Lately I have been reading a lot of self help books so I guess I could easily star in my own movie. ;-)

Sometimes when I am reading a book, vsualizing the characters helps. Most of them anyway..I have seen a couple I liked but I wouldn't say loved. They are always different than the book. They don't follow his books well at all. But I would love to see a history of the Battle of 1812, specifially based on Robert Rimini's book about Andrew Jackson in that war and the Battle of New Orleans. I think he is the quintessential historian. He makes history come alive, and I could see it being played out onscreen. I think the Civil War is overdone. I am much more interested in the Revolution and in the Federal Period.

What can I say? I went right over to Beverly's and was very amused at both of our posts.

I am not able to come up with a book movie idea. Most of my favorite books have already become movies. While writing this I did think of a book that would be a possible good movie after all. Did you ever read 'Green Darkness' by Anya Seton? At the time, I pictured Sandra Bullock as Stephanie and someone similar to Estelle Getty as Grandma Mazur.

I had heard long ago that Hollywood was considering a movie but I don't remember which studio, director or producers were involved. When I heard Cameron Diaz' name mentioned as Stephanie, I was disappointed. I don't care for Cameron Diaz, but beyond that, she just doesn't fit the physical description of the character.

Anyone else feel that way about well defined characters when the movie doesn't come close? Denzel Washington is a marvelous actor, but when he was cast as Lincoln Rhyme in The Bone Director, I was shocked. He looks nothing like the Lincoln described in the book.Knittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com
