Beverly at how sweet the sound hosts Pink Saturday. Stop by her place to see the many other pink items people are sharing.
From June 15th, through October, 1999, Chicago had "Cows on Parade," a summer art project designed to create interest. Three hundred life-size fiberglass cows were decorated in various ways by different artists and displayed in various locations in and near downtown Chicago. Everywhere you looked, there were cows of all designs and colors. Johnny and I were vacationing in Chicago at the time. Today, I've selected some of the pink cows for your enjoyment.
Her name is "Piggy Cow Bank."
This cow is entitled, "Princess Paris Pink."
This one is called, "Bucolic at Xtreme."
Here's "Gladiebelle."
This one is called,"Cows in Progress."
This was our favorite, and the label said, "Diamond Cow," but Johnny and I called her Marilyn Monroe. Notice the big pink bow on her rear.

I enjoyed your pretty pink cows, Sally. :o)
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us the ladies from the Chicago Cow Parade. You know I am crazy about them. That was the first Cow Parade ever held in the US. The first Westland figurines from that parade are all very expensive now. The "Diamonds are a Girl's Bestfriend" cow is sometimes posted on e-bay for several hundred dollars. I can only dream of ever owning her. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSally,
ReplyDeleteThe cows are so cute. As judi said, we had moose in Canada. Toronto had moose everywhere you turned. I should have a photo here somewhere.
My favorite is Princess Paris Pink. She is so calm looking in all of her pastel colors.

Blessings,
Mary

Hi Sally...
ReplyDeleteI like DIAMOND COW, too!!! Cute!!!
Thanks for the visits and comments.
Just thought I'd let you know I updated my post about Blogger Glitches to say:
BLOGGER GLITCHES...
SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE...I have been using MODERATE COMMENTS, in order to avoid the high number of SPAM comments I was receiving. Having my comments sent to an email box is only good in that I would SEE the comments. I couldn't POST the comments to my BLOG through my email. Posting the comments can only be done through the Dashboard. So, I was just trying to eliminate another "spot" for comments and hadn't had any troubles til a couple of days ago. I hope this clears up the confusion as to where my comments are going...and why. LOL!!! I'm confused enough!!! I am now trying a different setting for comments...sorry, but Word Verification is BACK!
~Blessings,
Jan

ReplyDeleteHow fun is this! Those cows are awesome! The creativity amazes me. I traveled to Saint Joseph, Michigan several times to view the carousel horses they did, and again a couple years later to view the bears. I love when a town does something like this!
