Something New

One of the best things about this time of year is Brach's candy corn. I like to eat them color by color. First, I bite off the yellow layer, then the orange, saving the white tips for last. The white tips are a bit too sweet for my taste.

Have you seen these? We were at Target yesterday, and I spotted this new candy corn. Caramel is one of my favorite flavors, so I had to try it. I like them. There's not much white tip to them, which suits me just fine.

I have a blogging buddy named Elizabeth who is gearing up for a big celebration. She will soon be marking her second year since she had a bone marrow transplant; she calls it her second birthday! She's planning on several giveaways. Check it out.

Don't miss the BOOK GIVEAWAY on my other blog Book Critiques.

  1. I feel deprived now! I don't think I've EVER had that stuff, or even seen it in shops! I'm guessing candy corn is related to Halloween, right? If it is, that might explain it, since Halloween isn't really a very big deal in NZ.

The caramel one looks good though, what is the other flavour, orange/lemon or something?

  2. Good Morning Sally
I love that candy corn too. hmmmm I pop that whole candy or 2 into my mouth and never realized there was a difference in the taste in the colour as you bit along it. See that goes to show we eat that darn candy differently. I'll have to pay attention to that.

We don't have that brand of candy and I haven't seen any that colour. It looks good too though.

Now you'll have me stopping to buy some. Yum!

    Have a lovely day.

  4. Morning Sally...well now, I guess one never gets too old to learn something...LOL I'm not a really big fan of the regular candy corn, perhaps because I didn't try to eat it in layers...I think I'd like that caramel variety though.

  7. We're starting to think alike. :) I just posted my Thursday blog... seems we picked the same title. How funny is that? My DH came home with a bag of candy corn. I love them. But it seems this year, they are so sweet. But I'm sure it's just me. xoxo, Joanna

  12. Oh, we are cut from the same cloth! At least as far as candy corn goes. I eat it the same way! That is so funny!

I love that you're watching DWTS too, cuz I learn something more every time you come visit and comment. It is my most favorite show. I just hope I don't dis someone who you like...maybe I shouldn't blog about it when I'm PMS-ing because then everyone just gets on my last nerve. Ha!

  13. I love candy corn and look forward to this time of year all year long. I've already bought a bag, but I've been good and have not opened it yet. I am a bit of a purist when it comes to my candy corn, so I'm not sure I'd like the caramel ones. :(

  14. My daughter loves candy corn....myself not so much. In fact, not at all. But I think it looks very pretty in a glass candy jar this time of year. I have never tried the carmel ones, but with candy corn in the name, I'd probably pass.

  30. I lived on Brach's candy corn last October. And, I found that if I took enough insulin to cover a serving (11 candies, I believe), my blood sugar was fine. That caramel kind sounds really good!

  31. I don't like the taste of candy corn at all. I did see those carmel ones when I went shopping last night and was tempted to buy them. Do they taste more like caramel or more like candy corn to you?

While I don't like to eat it. I do like candy corn as a decoration.

    take care,
    Dawn
