Talk About Johnny

I saw this meme on Beverly's blog. I answered these questions about Johnny, my husband.

1. He's sitting in front of the TV; what is on the screen?
A football game, a baseball game, a basketball game, or if none of these are available, a tiddlywinks game! And, if absolutely no sport is on, he'll watch an action movie.

2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad?
Thousand Island, and please take off the cucumbers!

3. What's one food he doesn't like?
Vegetables! Any kind. He's a meat and potatoes man. (Obviously, he doesn't eat many salads.)

4. You go out to the bar. What does he order?
Diet Coke

5. Where did he go to high school?
Miami, Florida

6. What size shoe does he wear?
10 1/2

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be?
Receipts, little pieces of paper with phone numbers, folded twice and tucked into his overstuffed wallet--the thing with no money in it! I call it his file cabinet.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
Italian sub

9. What would this person eat every day if he could?
Pizza and a meatball

10. What is his favorite cereal?
Nope, no cereal. He eats a Dunkin Doughnut "bowtie" for breakfast every day!

11. What would he never wear?
Overalls

12. What is his favorite sports team?
Miami Marlins, Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, and the University of Miami Football, baseball, basketball teams.

13. Who will he vote for?
McCain

14. Who is his best friend?
That would be me. Who else? And second best friend would be his identical twin brother.

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do?
Go to sleep late. He likes to go to sleep early and wake up at 5:00. This one fact has helped us have a successful marriage; we have no time to argue! lol

16. How many states has he lived in?
6

17. What is his heritage?
He's a pedigree: full blooded Italian! Both of his parents were born in Italy.

18. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake?
Banana cream pie is his favorite "cake."

19. Did he play sports in high school?
Not on a team, but he played any and all including bowling and billards.

20. What could he spend hours doing?
This question is really asking what he loves to do.
  1. Work,
  2. watch sports on TV, and
  3. eat out at inexpensive restaurants.
The BOOK GIVEAWAY on my other blog Book Critiques is almost over.

  4. I'm going to remember this meme next time I can't think of anything to write! I need to find a picture of Ben to put with it, though, and he is almost as camera-shy as I am. LOL
The thing about the receipts, though, is EXACTLY like my husband. I tease him that if he doesn't do something with all of those receipts his wallet isn't going to fit in his pocket. :o)

  7. That's a fun meme and I enjoyed reading your answers - our husbands have several in common. The biggest difference would be in my husband's wallet. He's a stickler for having it as tight and compact as he can get it. He's forever pulling out receipts and stubs and throwing them somewhere for me to file or handle :)

    Have a great day!

My husband's favorite thing is Banana pudding with real whipping cream on top..my husband is not into sports; his thing is being a"Mr. fix it man"He has saved us money over our 40 years by doing things himself..

    Enjoy your day... hugs. Baba

  15. Hi Sally...

Exactly what I thought...bad customer service. This B&B has only been open a little over a year.

While we were talking to the owners, she told us how she'd gone for "authenticity" in the rooms and had FULL SIZE beds for a while...and then realized the mistake in doing that and got all QUEEN SIZE beds.

They are currently using a Chef, who used to work at one of the local restaurants...to cook their meals. Well, what I think they do is get the meals pre-cooked and re-heat them...except for sausages and fruit.

    That's the lazy way!!!

My B&B would definitely have a LARGE, well-cooked luscious breakfast...made by ME!!!

    ~Blessings,
    Jan

  18. Great post. I laughed at your #15 - same as my hubby and me. I'm a night owl, not a morning person. He likes early bedtime and wakes up bright-eyed at 6AM. Maybe that really is the secret to a successful marriage!

  19. Its fun to see a pic of your hubby! It's also fun to learn a little bit more about the men in our blog friends' lives! Sure sounds like you have a great guy there! Must be if you have been married for 50 years, wow!

  20. Hey you just reminded me that Miami won over the weekend! Way to go Brown, that was evidently a great game. :)

  22. Sounds like a sweet man, Sally, and friendly , like you ~
I couldn't help but frown on his breakfasts though. :o) I guess he works it all off. Sometimes, not very often, when I worked at Wal-Mart, and felt stressed, I would have a honey bun for a snack, saying " This place drives me to eat Honey Buns. "
