Remember last November when we all agreed to be thankful every day instead of just on Thanksgiving? Truthfully, aren't we thankful for things like pizza and chocolate?
Maybe we should keep a Grateful journal where we list things for which we are thankful--simple things like the ability to take a breath or see the sky.

Sally, this is SO true! I am grateful for the ability to laugh. I went on my blog this morning (or should I say RACED to my blog) after falling soundly asleep early last night, and I had set my Sunday post to roll. It came on to Green Acres. ;-0 But then I thought, "Green Acres is the place to be, God's kind of living is the life for me! Heaven, spreading out so far and wide..." and it kind of worked! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love this post and YOU! Thanks for always making me smile and for being such a great blogging friend. I've loved getting to know you!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Oh, and I'm a little TOO grateful for chocolate and pizza! The pizza might have to go, but the chocolate... not if I can help it! ;-)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila
Good Sunday morning, Smiling Sally,
ReplyDeleteOh, yes...so many things to be thankful for, I go around most of the day uttering my thankfulness...
And, like the MAGPIE, I might give up pizza or mexican food or chicken and dumplings (all favorites) but chocolate...NEVER!
I so agree. I just finished a book called THE SAME KIND OF DIFFERENT AS ME, and the husband and wife in that book, after dealing with homeless people, gave thanks that they woke up. I give thanks for reading good blogs, too....:)
ReplyDeleteWonderful post Sally!! Our busy days keeps us from thinking about it.. but I try to tell my kids how lucky they are every day.. and it has rubbed off on my daughter especially.. she feels so sorry for the poor children in the third world...
ReplyDeleteI am so grateful for friends.. and for being able to work!
Monica
Yes it is true, when times get hard, there is still chocolate! Pizza is okay too. : )
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for every day ♥ and the chocolate & pizza help a lot :)
ReplyDeletevery true, Sally! I think a grateful journal is a good idea!
ReplyDeleteWe all have so much to be thankful for even in bad times. And Chocolate....oh yes!
ReplyDeleteI think a grateful journal is a fabulous idea. Chocolate and pizza will definitely be in mine!♥
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sally. Great reminder! "Count your blessings name them one by one"
ReplyDeleteChocolate and Pizza - my two favorite food groups! YUM
ReplyDeleteGreat post! What a great idea to keep a journal on what were thank-ful for. I want to start with my grand children by writing on a piece of paper what their thank-ful for and then on Thanksgiving day read all the notes that we put in the jar over the year. Have a wonderful Sunday,
ReplyDeleteGinger
Sally,
ReplyDeleteI am so with you on this! I have so many journals I can't keep up but always try to remember to enjoy the simple things in life & be grateful
Thank you so much for reminding us with this post. I can't even talk about the chocolate, it will make me want some! :-)
xoxo

Hi Sally, thank you for your visit and prayers. I appreciate it so much. Today of all days we had to miss church. My dh has a bad cold. I am already sleeping in the recovery room. ( my guestroom) I am scared to death to catch his cold.
ReplyDeleteYour post today gave me a good laugh. It is very therapeutic. I too love chocolate but not pizza.
Blessings to you today Sally...Jeanne
I enjoyed the cartoon this morning. I'm reading through the bible and I'm in Exodus. I just read the chapter where Moses told the people they would not be wearing jewelry, not the same as pizza and chocolate for me.
ReplyDeleteKathy b
First let me say "Amen" to the chocolate and pizza...
ReplyDeleteand you are right... there is something in every day to be thankful for. I find myself, more often than not, sitting on my front porch in the morning, sipping coffee and being thankful for the beauty all around me.
hugs. Dixie
I agree 100%. I love my chocolate. I am thankful everyday for the blessing of having chocolate.
ReplyDeleteJudy
Great post, Sally. We ALL do have so much to be thankful for, EVEN when times are bad. Just look at how people in other parts of the world LIVE. We are spoiled here in the USA... Yes, a Grateful Journal is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy
Good afternoon Sally, I know I'm grateful everyday for the simple pleasures in life. I hope you have a beautiful Sunday ♥
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine life without chocolates.Although I would probably be better off. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Chris
Sally, I'm still laughing over the cartoon, I would faint too if my pizza and chocolate were taken way from me. We go to a restaurant that serves chocolate chip pizza, just out of this world, I've tried to get the recipe they won't budge, ( i guess they want us to keep coming back, lol).
ReplyDeleteI think maybe a thankful journal is a great idea,Blessings Sue

Hi Sally,
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for many things! For the air that I breathe, I am thankful. I am thankful for oh so many things; including the pizza I had for lunch today! And I wouldn't want to have to go without chocolate for very long. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Sunday.
Blessings,
Sandi
So true. Pizza and chocolate are two of my favorite things. Our sky is so beautiful this time of the year. Every time we go out one of us comments on how pretty the sky is today. Coming home from church today was the last time I made that remark.
ReplyDeleteHappy S.S.
Charlotte
Funny, funny, funny! So true. Chocolate and pizza are two of my favorite things. (Talked to our Senior Minister this morning about you know who).
ReplyDeleteHi Sally
ReplyDeleteThis post is so full of truth. Doesn't it make you feel good when you are grateful for something...doesn't it just feel extra good.
When I see or hear of someone less fortunate or something not feeling well I just remember to count my blessings. How would I feel in that situation.
Thank you for sharing this post with us.
have a lovely day
Judi
Very cute, Sally, I like those things too.
ReplyDeleteSo very true...on the thankful part. But really, my hips would not care if pizza and chocolate fell of the face of the earth. Now my taste buds would scream!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings on this the Lord's Day!
Candy
You are right on the money, Sally! I try everyday to notice something that God has given me to enjoy and just say a quiet "thank you" to Him for his blessings.
ReplyDeleteSally, I have so much to be thankful for. Including Pizza and Chocolate. :D.
ReplyDeleteI cannot say that I am thankful for either one since I cannot eat either one but I am thankful for being able to eat something! For that, I am very, very thankful!
ReplyDeleteCute cartoon! I had to laugh at that one.
I too am grateful for bloggers like you who take time to share thoughts and peeks into your lives and homes. I would never have imagined a place I could visit everyday where women just like me hang out and how nice everyone could be.
ReplyDeleteSMILES :>) from Roberta Anne
hahahaha love the cartoon. Gratefulness - one of my favourite songs which I play most days is 'Count your blessings name one by one'. Judith
ReplyDeleteWHEW!!!!! There would have been some serious problems if he had said "thou shalt not eat pizza and chocolate"
ReplyDeleteLOL on the comic! ... a reminder of the many things we can do, with His blessings :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sally,
ReplyDeleteWe all do have so much to be thankful for don't we?
Thanks for the reminder!
I tagged you...you may have done this one before, and if so that's okay!
I am greatful for my children every day!! I learned a long time ago that you have to cherish every moment of life good and bad because life is sooooo short! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend!
True, there is so much to be thankful for every day.
ReplyDelete"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks ALWAYS for ALL things unto God and the Father, in the name of our Lord,Jesus Christ." Eph 5:19-20 Amen to being thankful!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to meet you!
Jennifer
PS
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful back yard view.
And your background page is so pretty.
Jennifer
As a child, I was allergic to chocolate. I am now making up for the lost years...yes, that is the excuse I shall tell myself.
ReplyDeleteSally,
ReplyDeletePlease help me. I am trying to do the peramalink and Mr. Linky thing to put my name on your blog for Blue Monday and I am absolutely lost. If you could possibly add my name tomorrow it would be so appreciated. Then hopefully I can ask you or someone to help me out with it.
So sorry to bother you...
xoxo
Jane
Sally,
ReplyDeleteI think that cartoon is too cute! Thanks for the smiles on Spiritual Sundays and for stopping by my post today!
~Jean
I keep a grateful journal and one of my very first entries was my vacuum cleaner.
ReplyDelete♥hugs♥
I could probably pass on pizza, but chocolate, there are days and then there are days that just call for a piece of dark chocolate to distract the brain from the work day. Great cartoon. :)
