Pink Saturday - Easter Egg Cake

Beverly at How Sweet the Sound hosts Pink Saturday. Pause at her Place to see Plenty of other Pretty Pink items that Precious Pink Participating People are Presenting for your Pleasure.

Family traditions are so important. Here is one that I began with our family. Every Easter for our family meal, I serve an Easter Egg cake for dessert. I order it from the bakery. It helps us remember the reason for Easter. He arose!

It all began when I heard a story about a Sunday School teacher who asked the class to draw a cross. Most children quickly drew a stick-like object that closely resembled the letter "T," but one child got out all the pastel crayons and became quite intent while working on his drawing. When he finished, his picture was a cross, covered with beautiful flowers.

He explained, "I put flowers on my cross to make it beautiful because that's how Jesus made it so I could go to Heaven."

Here's a picture of this year's Easter egg cake.

  4. The cake is just beautiful. And the little story, well all I can say is "out of the mouths of Babe's come the truth".
The Cross is Beautiful, because Jesus made it that way.
    Have a very Happy Easter.

  17. Sally,

The Easter cakes are beautiful. I love the story about the child coloring a picture. Children are so free. Children are always open to sharing their imagination with us. Thank goodness! I can use the inspiration.
