Have you noticed that we are drowning in advertisements? We see them everywhere. We're used to billboards.
There's "product placement" in the movies we attend and on the shows we watch on television.
Our phone book covers even have extra advertisements stuck onto the covers!
They're found in other places too.On bus benches.
On buses.
Last week, we went to a mall, and I was stunned to see advertisements spread across the doors to the mall!
One of the doors is being held open by my granddaughter so you can see the difference.

I don't care for it at all. We went to the Mountains and the view was spectacular, bang out of nowhere was a huge sign in the middle of the view. I think we are being over stimulated and that causes rash decision making and mood swings. Just like you aren't supposed to overstimulate young children because of confusion and aggressive behavior. Guess you didn't ask for all of that..LOL
Yes, especially over here in Metro Manila! I think that the tarpaulin ads all over the malls make the look and feel of the malls so harassing. I think it's rude, really, to stick ads all over the place like that...it's like an unwanted invasion.
I am tired of seeing adds every where. I shut the door in a store bathroom the other day and there was an add for a pizza place. That's just what I want to think about when I am on the potty.
Good Morning Sally... I really don't care for all the advertising either however I think I am getting so use to it I don't even notice half of it anymore... Have a great day...
(((HUGS)))

I completely agree with you, Sally...it's too much and over the top for me.
I believe we are all in agreement that there are way too many signs. I also think they are getting more "suggestive" which is making it difficult to take smaller children anywhere.
Hello!
I tend to block it out...it makes my dear husband crazy.
Soon our toothbrushes will have ads on them..oh wait! They do...Drs Carano and Kingston.
Oyyy..
Becky K.
I agree -- I just hate it. I try to block it out.
Unbelievable, Sally!
Do they honestly think that is going to make anyone do or spend any more with all of this inundation of 'stuff'?
We ALL just need to stop. step back. and just take a breath...
Have a Fa-bu-lous Friday down in my hometown!!
Hugs,
Lynn♥
It just shows how desperate the retail market is ! They are really hurting. I don't know how they sell all of this stuff anyway.
OK Sally this is my big move weekend. Instead of packing and panicking I decided to stop by for a smile. I know I procrastinate but at least I know where to go to relax eh? As for the advertising. I have for a long time said one thing about it. It makes the world just a little bit uglier and in disarray. Most of us don't even pay attention anymore but wouldn't it be nice to see loads of artwork and architectural beauty in its place? My biggest pet peeve is advertising in the mail. Grrrr what a waste.
You (almost) always make me smile. Yes, I agree there is too much advertisement. And then I remember those four "buttons" at the top of my blog advertising book giveaways. You have to scroll down to get to my daily post. LOL They come off today! I'll have to reconsider what to do in the future. (OOPS, is that an outdoor Wednesday advertisement I see on yesterday's post?)
Sally,I can't swim a lick...so I may not be able to save you...BUT...I often try to ignore ADS...they are brainwashers..and good lord...we bloggers have better things to do!
YOUR sidebar is full of buttons that make me smile everytime I click on ya...THANKS for an ad free zone!
Oh yes I do agree. Is is information overload. Seems we all have too much stuff and they want us to buy more. You can't walk through the mall without someone acosting you to buyt their lotion that will take years off of your life, teeth whitening, fake ponytails, some sort of all over girdle, home remodelling....
AMEN, to your post. I agree with you totally. That is one reason I do not watch much TV, as there are so many ads.
I absolutely agree with you. WAY too much advertising!
That does look like way too much, Sally. I guess I just don't notice it that much. I'm sure it has increased, because companies are desperate for business.
Hi Sally
I hate it really. Its just too much. Too much going on and keeping our heads spinning... I think its ok in places where it should be...in those busy shopping places or certain types of touristy places...but not in the gentle peace and quiet of our lives. I hate the distraction and its so intrusive and obstructive too. If we need them...we can look them up.. hate it!
I think that retailers are feeling desperate, Sally, and I feel for them. I normally hate to be inundated with things like this, but I'm cutting them loads of slack right now. That is also why you're seeing Christmas in July. I worked in economic development, and I hate more than anything to see businesses suffer. I am always cheering for them to stay afloat. So if they feel they must do this, I will try and support the ones I can like Publix who gives to charity and is very, VERY philanthropic to all of the communities it serves.
XO,
Sheila :-)
Oh, and I'm not saying that Publix is one of those that inudates you with advertising... just that I plan to shop with stores like that that give back to the communities where they're located.
XO,
Sheila :-)
It has become a way of like globally. Advertising drives the world...not saying I like it mind you!
Sally,
yes advertisements are everywhere and I have to say I have become somewhat oblivious to them anymore!
I hope you have a blessed weekend!
Yep, it is everywhere. The Mayor of the little town that BB lives in, refuses to have any signs in her town, nothing can stick up higher than the builds and then no billboard or free standing signs even Wal-Mart can't have a sign, only on the front of the building over the door.. It looks so nice, only problem is if you don't know your way around, you have a hard time finding stores...lol..
I agree with you completely. Enough is enough! It makes you not want to shop!!
The advertisement on the mall doors is just too much!
take care,
Dawn
Why don't those advertisers realize that when we have so much of it all around us, we see NONE of it... I try to tune it all out --but sometimes it's hard. Yuk!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Gee, I never noticed, but you are right! And I hate the "pill" commercials on tv.
'Recall my h.s. journalism teacher showing us examples of crowded ads ... too busy; it confounds the brain and hurts my gums. I wholeheartedly agree with most of what's come before (above)...in case anyone's keeping score, that is! However, I DO really appreciate a well-done, commercial spot; the kind that speaks volumes by saying less.
Hey Sally; I know just what you mean, you can't go any where with out seeing some kind of adds shoved in our faces.... so yes I am drowning right along with you... Love the cartoon.. Have a good weekend.
Hugs;
Alaura
What bugs me the most is all of the advertising on the TV. Hey, I'm getting old and my attention span is short. By the time the ads get through, I can't remember what was going on in the show. May be that's a good thing. Sally
After a while is just gets so tacky, me thinks! Now I must tell you this...last week Mr. Precious called me to meet him for lunch! I went into the ladies room, the handicapped stall, I know that's terrible, but the other two were busy and it was an emergency! I closed the door and there was a full sized picture of a naked man on the wall! his backside. I took a very long look ;) and on the bottom of his foot was printed the name of some kind of alcohol! Now that takes the cake, or the bum, rather :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Sally,
You are so right! Advertisements are everywhere we go. I do try to ignore them....most of the time! :o)
So very true!
It really drives me bonkers! At least in my neck of the woods they're not allowed to do much along the roadways. I really think billboards are ugly.
I saw a commercial for some company and in it there was an ad for Dunkin Donuts... a commercial in a commercial. Yuck!
I agree with ya...glug, glug, glug. I can't even take my 9 yr old to the Lego store at our mall without passing larger than life adv of 1/2 naked girls for Victoria's Secrets bras and panties...talk about in your face. I enjoy headin' to the farm in North Carolina where in laws live to get away from the crazy everyday of city, suburban life.
Sally, you are so right! We have become so accustomed to the ads that we don't think anything about them being everywhere. laurie

I think this is very good place to share our ideas. Advertisement is the best way to selling particular products and also good to compare the product. And good advertisement can create number of customers.
