Here's the result of the lot after "scraping." I'm not sure why there is a little mountain of dirt left in the front.
This is the "footprint" of the house.
P.S. Surgery went well: I lived and didn't make an utter fool of myself. I go next Tuesday to have the stitches removed. Thanks for your prayers. I believe God answered!
Nice outdoor and shots!

Sally, now the fun begins. You will not be able to stay away from the process of building your new home. It will draw you there like a magnet. We have built 4 homes, ask me anything!!! You do need to stay on top of what they are doing.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful your oral surgery went well. I hope you are not in much pain. You're welcome for the prayers. That's what Christians do. Smiling.

The pile of dirt is your top soil. It is very precious, so it is saved and will be put back on top of your yard so you can plant your lawn.
ReplyDeleteI share your excitement. Our home was the first one built on our street. We moved in and watched the others being built. We bought our home, went back to California and waited for it to be built. It was ready right on the day promised. We will watch and wait with you.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!! It will be fun to watch it progress.
ReplyDeleteI am a wimp when it comes to anything dental, too. Glad the surgery went well.
No dental work is fun. Happy yours is over and you are doing well. I hate going to the dentist, but sometimes, we have no choice. New homes are nice, but you really have to have a lot of patience.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! We were at this point just a few years back. I couldn't wait for them to finally get going on it. There was the concrete shortage and builing boom at the time, so it seemed to take forever!!
ReplyDeleteyea!! I know you are excited to have it started!!! Can't wait to see the finished house!
ReplyDeleteThis is the most exciting thing, Sally. When daughter had theirs built, i went out every single day. It amazed me that the house looked smaller as it was going up..One day, it just looked a LOT smaller to me..I decided one room had been left off..daughter paniced, shouted to her Jent "One room has been left off"..Jent in turn ran 900 miles an hour over to his builder.."HEY, dude...you left off a room"..the builder turned red as a beet, ran out to his crew in record time.."Why the hell did you guys leave off an entire room?"..after they all came out of their coma..they said "WE DIDN'T...WE KNOW WE DIDN'T."(turns out, houses look smaller before the walls go up)
ReplyDeleteBy this time, I slowly and quitely got in my car, drove home and I don't like to talk about it to this day!!!teeehheeee....

ReplyDeleteHow exciting fo you, Sally! I sold new homes for major builders for many years, and I always enjoyed working with the buyers on choosing their colors and amenities...to see the anticipation in their eyes was so delightful to me. I'm hoping it all goes well and quickly for you, so you'll be showing us your new decorating in no time flat!
