Debbie, a pleasant lady who works inside the jewelry shop put the display together. She's recently had an experience with breast cancer, and she is the one who painted the glasses. They sell for $20 each and a portion of the proceeds go to support a cure for Breast Cancer.

Debbie's friend wrote the poem.
A Toast To Your Life
Breast Cancer is real and among us.
You can beat and overcome it.
For you are strong and you are alive.
This glass is a toast to your life.
Come what may, don’t lose faith,
For look how far you’ve come.
Look forward and treasure each moment.
This glass is a toast to your life.
Filled with love, hugs, and kisses,
This is a drink of well-wishes,
Of healing and the power to overcome.
This glass is a toast to your life.

I think every woman I know has been touched by Breast Cancer in some way. One of my best friends passed away from Breast Cancer in 1994 after a two year battle. It broke my heart to watch her suffer. But she was brave and always put on the good face. Whenever I see a post like this, it reminds me of Edna, her struggle... and her strength. Sweet tribute.

Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem. Glad the roof is up on your house and I have no idea where to find the perfect sofa but I agree most sort of have you sink down when you sit. We felt like the story of the 3 bears when sofa shopping ..one sofa was too short and soft and one too hard and one just right for us:)
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday !!! The window display is really preety and for such a great cause. Have a wonderful new week.
ReplyDeleteLovely pink glasses Sally. i hope you are having a nice weekend.
