Sunday, my husband noticed that some of the Denver Broncos were wearing Pink shoes. I researched it a bit and found about 100 NFL players were planning to wear Pink shoes. The onslaught of Pink, of course, is to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Players also were clad in Pink wristbands and Pink gloves. Pink towels were used throughout the league. Coaches will have Pink shirts.
During the Dolphin/Buffalo game, the first down markers were Pink, armbands were Pink, and the Dolphins hats had Pink on them.

What a great idea! It will open the eyes of a different demographic.
ReplyDeleteI watched the wrong game. This is a neat feature for today's Pink Saturday. The team I watched wore blue, and I hate it they cannot win. There are better days ahead for us all.
ReplyDeleteI love it, Sally!! I love that we are aggressively putting the fight for the cure for breast cancer out there. And I heard a commercial that made me sigh deeply, about losing a mother, grandmother, sister, Aunt, daughter, wife...to breat cancer. Men need to be aware.
ReplyDeleteI hope we can spread the word on other cancers as well. I wore teal nail polish for ovarian cancer in September's awareness month. Got teased a bit, until I explained why.
Great post, Sally. And your weather Pixie is looking a lot warmer than mine. Love your shades!!
xoxo

So neat to see so much 'pink' everywhere these days--to make people aware of breast cancer. I have a very good friend (whom I will spend some time with from the 20th-25th of Oct) who has breast cancer which has spread. So very very sad.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
I watched several of the games and was so thrilled to see not only pink shoes, but a lot of pink gloves too. What a great thing to have the NFL recognize the cause. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post as for those who do not watch football it will show them that guys are passionate about the cause too. I thought it awesome to see those big old mean Bears and ever our Saints wearing their Pinks. Takes a real man to wear pink and they wore it proudly. Hugs, Mollye
ReplyDeleteHow pretty and cool!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday and a nice weekend.
Now THAT is neat, Sally!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday to you...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Kewl PINK shoes ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
O, it makes my heart sing when I see all the PINK...especially the MEN wearing pink. Someday, they will find a way to beat breast cancer...I pray for it!!

Maybe with everyone promoting a cure for breast cancer,it will finally happen. I am a cancer survivor and I pray that all cancer will be wiped out. Happy Pink Saturday and have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteHi Sally,
ReplyDeleteWe saw all of the pink during the NFL games last week too. How wonderful that these big, tough NFL players didn't think themselves above wearing all the pink to support this cause.
Happy Pink Saturday!
Robin
Oh so pretty, Sally!..Christine
ReplyDeleteLove your "P" Sally.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to make cranberry sauce for tomorrow. It's our Thanksgiving. I will share it on Blue Monday.
So... PINK SNEAKS? COOL.
Love Claudie

Sally, this is wonderful! Thanks for sharing the pink shoes. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteWould love to have seen them in the shoes! Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteLast weekend while watching the NFL, I noticed that the refs and the umpires also wore pink... what a wonderful tribute, made even more special because these men are such stong role models... I think it's great that the NFL is spreading the word...and the pink!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't get any better than that, does it. Also shows everyone else it's ok to support breast cancer and wear the color too, Happy Pink Saturday, Char
ReplyDeleteLovely Pink Saturday post and sweet blog, too. Woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground so even thought this isn't Saturday I really needed a boost! Today you made me smile...
ReplyDeleteSorry, I didn't get to see everyone yesterday. I had important business. My 11 year-old grandson was playing football and he wanted Mimi to go to the out-of-town-last-of-the-season-game. THEY WON AGAINST AN UNDEFEATED TEAM! WOO-HOO! 35 - 17☺
Hope the coming week blesses you with sunshine, happiness and good friends.
That is really cool! How nice of them to raise awareness in that way.
ReplyDeleteHolly Pink those shoes are so adorable. Nice to hear that athletes are supporting the Pink this month.
