Hi Sally, Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas. Interesting about the myrrh.. BUT--I keep wondering what you (or I) would do if we got pregnant with the Son of God inside of us??? Yipes---talk about a shock! SO--I keep thinking about Mary this week!!!!
I did not know that interesting fact about myrrh. I love all the beautiful prophetic words that point to Jesus as our Messiah. Thanks for sharing, Sally! I hope you had a great Christmas. :)
Blessings Sally!!! The gift of myrrh, symbolic of His appointed time of sacrifice...WOW...though this is meant as a funny...it's really something if we ponder all 3 of the gifts...none meant or intended for a baby...but so meaningful to what His life would hold and accomplish! I wonder if these were the traditional gifts for a King? Very interesting!
Good post as always. I was thrilled that you got into your new home before Christmas. Now, I hope you are getting settled into your new house and that it already feels like home.
I know Sally. I think blogger made some changes some time ago. When people post to my blog or I post to others, I click their name after reading their comment. That will take me to their profile page. If they are like you and me and have multiple blogs, I have to scratch my head and wonder "which one...". Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's not. I have some wordpress blogs on hold. I am thinking of moving my business (the photography) blog there. That photography blog often gets strange activity... LOL!
Congratulations on your new home! It's beautiful. By the way, my favorite color is blue but I don't think I have time to participate in another meme :).
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and leave a comment.
Words can easily be our undoing. Casually tossed about with little thought of their impact or import, we talk without processing the value (for good or bad) what we way. Proverbs says "In the multitude of words, transgression in unavoidable." James say, "Be slow to speak, quick to hear, and slow to wrath." We would all be wise to carefully chose our words. Proverbs says, "Life and death are in the power of the tongue." I choose life, don't you!!!
Blessings and thanks for leaving me a comment. May the Lord bless you now and in the New Year to come. And may the blood-bought Bride of Christ be "without spot or wrinkle" as we await the glorious appearing of our Heavenly Bridegroom.
Maybe the myrrh represented the humanity of Jesus. It seemed to foretell of the brutality that would be done to him.
ReplyDeleteThis must have been one of those things Mary "kept and pondered in her heart" at the time that became all too clear later.
ReplyDeleteWow Sally that was interesting... Thanks for such a great post...
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day and enjoy that Florida weather...
Happy New Year
Donna
Interesting!
ReplyDeletePraying you have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, andrea

ReplyDeleteI have studied this. And I bet this is one of the things Mary "pondered" in her heart.

ReplyDeleteI meant to add, blogger used to have it where you posted the blog you wanted linked back to.
ReplyDeleteWe just learned about this on Christmas Eve. But it does make you think of Mary's reaction to this gift.
ReplyDeleteThe gifts have always been such a mystery to me, but I tend to agree with you on the myrhh.

We do know what it represents, but the cartoon makes me think. What kind of gift is that for a baby, they should have given him a toy too.
ReplyDeleteNice cartoon. Just want to wish you a Happy New Year and may the Lord bless you richly!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful 2010.
ReplyDeleteI just want to greet you a wonderful Holidays.
