~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We were out and about this past week, and look what we
blue we found! Yes the sky, but also...
Ikea is a
blue and yellow store with products that come in boxes--the "easy to assemble" kind. Since the products come from Sweden, most of the names are in Swedish. It's easy to see what you might like, and there are some bargain prices to be found.
We didn't buy a thing--only picked up a brochure and got some information from a helpful clerk. However, we did buy a yummy meal of Swedish meatballs. We'll probably return another day to purchase a shelving unit and to enjoy another meal!
IKEA is a fun place to shop and eat!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever seen the inside of an IKEA...one of these days...
ReplyDeleteWell I got on the ball this evening so I would miss Blue Monday this week.
Hoping for warm BLUE skies here in Texas ;-)
I LOVE going to IKEA!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week!
I've always wanted to visit an IKEA. There are none anywhere near here. Hope you find some good stuff there.
ReplyDeleteThis posts brings back some memories of some "easy to assemble" pieces that my husband and I purchased at Ikea! As Forest Gump would say, 'that's all I have to say about that'. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday!
I love IKEA! And I love eating there too!
ReplyDeleteAnd when I'm too lazy to make my Swedish mother-in-law's recipe for meatballs (which is usual), I buy the frozen ones from Ikea! They are not as good as my mother-in-law's but they come close!
Great post!
All the best,
Eileen
I was at the opening of the very first IKEA in the U.S.-- I think it was in 1982 in Plymouth Meeting, PA -- and I have been a fan ever since. They are especially great for shelving. I enjoyed your post! ~Kate
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday to you too, Sally. We saw some blue sky here also today. NICE!!!!! And--it's supposed to warm up this week... Yeah!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
I like the selection of stuff at Ikea, its just a little price for me heheh.
ReplyDeleteColored Pencils
Their shelving units are great Sally - cheap and a great way to organize. I am looking to get some more myself. There is one in Sunrise in South Florida. Happy Blue Monday
ReplyDeleteI saw an Ikea this weekend too while the one we saw was bluish purple. This is my first Blue Monday, thanks for making it available. :-)
ReplyDeletethis is a fun meme...my first time here...
ReplyDeleteMy share..
Happy Blue Monday. Great shots especially on the first pic. the sky is so blue and i like it.
ReplyDeleteMine is up now Sally.
Haven´t been to the local Ikea for a while now but it is nice to wander about there at some times. But I don´t go there to eat meatballs though, I make them myself :)
ReplyDeleteThat's my kind of store!! love it!!
ReplyDeleteHappy BM!
We don't have a local IKEA so I believe I need to see where the nearest one is located. Looks like my kind of store!
ReplyDeleteI love IKEA and I am proud it is from my country, MB
ReplyDeleteI love browsing IKEA online but I too havent yet bought anything. If you go back, Sally, will you take a few pictures? I have always wondered what the inside will look like. Are you settling in well? We are finally to a point that life is making some sense after the move. Much love to you!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have one of those. BOOO Hooo I do love to find new places to shop and eat. If you can do them both in one store that is the best kind. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI have never been to an Ikea store before but I have heard they are fantastic. What a perfect sign for blue/yellow Monday! Your header is so much fun! What kind of birds are they? We don't see them up here in N.H.
ReplyDeleteIn Vienna we've got too.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE going to IKEA!!!
Enjoy your week!
And I love your sweet header!
Smile...happy Blue Monday...Luna
In South Florida we have one IKEA store and I love to eat breakfast there before shopping!
ReplyDeleteI've only been to IKEA once. Great blue. You have a knack of finding blues everywhere!
ReplyDeletecindy
I love the BIG BIRDS and little birds on your banner! What a wonderful sight! Great pictures of IKEA as well! Happy Blue Monday!
ReplyDeleteYup ... IKEA stores are usually blue with a bright yellow sign! Love your header photo ... those little chicks walking with their TALL parents are a marvelous capture! Are they headed to Ikea to shop perhaps?
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Small Reflections
We had a brand new IKEA store open up here in Atlanta a little over a year or so ago and I had such fun walking around in it! I definitely need to go back soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Sally, I'd love to visit one of these stores, but don't have one close by! Heard they had some really neat stuff and good prices!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday to you! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
My first time to join here.
ReplyDeleteI love going to IKEA. We don't have it here in Al Ain City. I usually travel to central Abu Dhabi or Dubai if I want to buy some stuff from IKEA.
Happy Blue Monday to everyone.
Good morning Sally, I am home from Atlanta and I will catch up with everyone asap. In the meantime I would love to visit that store IKEA. I adore your header. I miss those wonderful birds.
ReplyDeleteI made a mistake on my first entry on Mr. Linky. Sigh.
I will be over again soon.
Hugs, Jeanne
a little place I like to hit once a year at least. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have an Ikea but I sure wish we did.
ReplyDeleteWe had blue sky all day yesterday and a heat wave...it wamed up to the middle 40's !! :O)
Happy Blue Monday!
xo bj
Blue Ikea... now there's a new blue for you! My adult kids love Ikea shelving.. I think all 3 of them have some Ikea shelves in their homes...
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful Blue Monday & rest of the week... here's hoping things begin to thaw soon! (darn global warming!)
I LOVE IKEA!!! I wish there was one closer to me!!
ReplyDeleteWe went here on my other trip to Tampa (not this weekend) and it is an awesome store!...Christine
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a store near us, but I love their commercial on TV where the lady runs over her mail box with a semi truck full of boxes, jumps out, tells her hubby they had a sale and she's going back for more, then she takes off running down the street..
ReplyDeletecool blue finds! :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy browsing through Ikea but I'm not fond of the usual crowds that are there. Most of our bookcases are from Ikea...
ReplyDeleteThe meals are a bargain there!
Happy Blue to you Sally. Hope you are staying warm...
Swedish meatballs sound good!
ReplyDeleteI do this alot when I am out look for pictures that match something on my blog that is so fun
ReplyDeleteI have never actually been inside and IKEA store... but I love looking at their catalogues.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are great, I love the contrast of the blue and yellow.
Have a great week!
I haven't been to an IKEA store. I think there is one a couple of hours from my home. I may have to check it out one day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, andrea
Glad you joined me in your out and about watch for blues. I never leave home without my little digital. We have an Ikea store in Dallas, but not here. I have not been as I stay away from that part of the world. Too busy for me.
ReplyDeleteGreat Blue post, Miss Sally! Need to check out our Ikea!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your Sandhill Crane family on your header....they walk all through my parent's neighborhood, too. Love that they are mates for life♥
Hugs,
Lynn
I did not went to IKEA store before. Nice shot dear. Happy blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteWe didnt have an IKEA back home but now in our new city, I'm sure there has to be one near by. I love Blue Monday and I thank you for hosting!
I'm so sorry my link was not right. Not sure what or why.
Thank you for talking the time to fix it.
I'll try to be more careful next time.
blessings on your blue Monday
barbara jean
Good morning Sally, I wish we had that store.. my husband wants to add some more selves in one of my bedroom closets..you have the same blue skies as I do today..our temperature is presently 36 and going up to 50 degrees.. it is warming up this week... hugs, Baba
ReplyDeleteHehehh, I might be going to IKEA next week. The Swedish IKEA stores are also blue and yellow today. Once they were all white with the huge letters in four colors (blue, green, yellow and red) but after introducing the store everywhere in the world the colors scheme went Swedish - as in the Swedish flag which is blue with a yellow cross.
ReplyDeleteIKEA's Köttbullar are world famous :-) Meatballs that is. LOL!
I will never forget the first time we went to our local Ikea! That huge blue facade stood out like nothing that I have ever seen before. Thats about as blue as it gets!
ReplyDelete♥, Susan
Great photos! It's my first time to join. Happy Blue Monday!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an attractive and tasty outing!
ReplyDeleteI love Ikea.....we have about 4 or 5 within less then 1 hour from my house. It's very popular here in Toronto. They even come in from Buffalo and Rochester to do their shopping b/c it's the closest one to them, so it is very busy here.
ReplyDeleteLove them cinnamon buns.
Happy Blue Monday!!!!
Oh, I love Ikea! Happy Blue Monday! Mary :O)
ReplyDeleteI sure wish we had an IKEA close by. I've been to one once and it was soooo neat!
ReplyDeleteGreat blue Pics!I have not been to an IKEA yet. I would like to go.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday !
~Myrna
Holy Cow Sally...75 gals today. I'll be here getting nothing done again lol
ReplyDeleteWe have had IKEA for many moons here in Canada. I'm not sure I like them though. Seems if you stay put with your goods in one place, and not have to "disassemble" what ever you spent hours putting together, your ok...otherwise it falls apart. Nice concept but not for me.
Happy Blue Monday, stay warm.
Love Claudie
oxoxoxox
P.S. Yes their meet balls with gravy are good. The dogs like them too lol
I love Ikea!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am late here in CA!
Hope you can come by!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week Sally!
Diane
Hi Sally! Joining you for the first time on Blue Monday. I'm looking forwards to seeing what everyone has posted. :-)
ReplyDeleteI miss IKEA and every other super big store available to most! It's a fun place to shop.
ReplyDeleteHowdy Sally
ReplyDeleteYou really have a knack for finding blue everywhere you go .
I love it !
We do not have an IKEA but I have heard they are a lot of fun to visit with helpful clerks.
That helpful part has me sold right up front :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a good ideas trip to Ikea this time and of course lunch too.
We call those Finnish meatballs because ours are the same kind too...they are yummy.
Have a really lovely evening
I have never been to Ikea but I hear good things about it. I love things to organize other things in LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am guessing that they have a restaurant inside. How yummy.
take care,
Dawn
ReplyDeletePretty pic of the blue blue sky..we don't have IKEA by us :(
ReplyDeleteHi Sally--we recently had an IKEA open in Charlotte, NC about 90 minutes from where I live. It's a great place and it's easy to spend hours there. They've got some great stuff too. Hope you find what you're looking for in the catalogue and head back again to buy it.
ReplyDeleteHappy blue monday!! I loved your blog header pic
ReplyDeletewished we had a "little blue" here, as in an IKEA store *sad face*
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sally, I have never been there but I heard it is a fabulous store. The picture of the blue sky is beautiful. It's been kind of gloomy here. I hope you have a wonderful day. Send us a little sunshine. We could use it this month :>)
ReplyDeleteHappy blue Monday, Sally. I always enjoy your blue pics.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrifically blessed day!!!
How did I not know about this!? I will be joining in next Monday, on both of my blogs. I have a main blog and I also have a blog where I will just post a blue thing I find if I am just surfing the internet. Blue is my favorite color as well. Now I'm off to check out all the other blue posts!
ReplyDeleteIKEA is great .... a lot of good and cheap stuff - but be careful, some items are not of good quality :o)
ReplyDeleteIkea is so popular. I'm amazed at how many stores use blue. Maybe it is because blue is the favorite color of so many people.
ReplyDeleteLove the blue skies and other blues, Sally
ReplyDeleteOh Miss Sally! There is blue in three of the pictures ~ bowls in one and pillows in two others. I LOVE blue and your Blue Monday ~ I wouldn't link if there wasn't any blue. Now I'm sad :(
