I never thought about buying water before I moved last year. Whenever I wanted a drink, I'd just get some from my tap; if I wanted it chilled, I had a refrigerator with a dispenser of ice and water in the door.
The water where I live now has a different taste. It doesn't seem to bother most folks, but it sure bothers me. So, I've turned into a consumer! Yep, I buy some of those plastic bottles that clog the landfills. (Shh! Please don't tell.) At least I recycle them.
I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't like the taste of the local water. Look what I found not too far from where I live: water for sale! Of course, it's a beautiful eye-catching blue.
This unique stand is located in a corner, in the parking lot of a strip mall. If you wish, you can click on any picture to read the instructions. I tried my best to get close enough for you to read.
There's a little, clear, plastic door that covers this spot. Johnny held it open for me so that I could get a clear photo for you. This is where the water comes out. Just place the empty container, and...
It's 25¢ per gallon, 75¢ for 3 gallons, or $1.00 for 5 gallons. You must supply your own container(s).
While we were there, a lady stopped to buy some water. Look at the containers at her feet. I guess she spent $1.00. It didn't take long, and she was on her way. Perhaps I could try this and save a landfill or two.
I think it's ironic to find Artic water in Florida!
Happy Blue Monday!
Happy Columbus Day!
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Day!

ReplyDeleteLooking great as always Sally..You sure can find some interesting photos Sweetie!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of God's blessings are wished for you and big HUGS from me too!!!
Dena
UGH water! Our water bills here in So Cal just skyrocketed!
ReplyDeleteI've always taken good tasting drinking water for granted but I think I need to appreciate it more. Not every community enjoys good water even in the U.S. Interesting way to dispense it tho', I haven't seen that before. The 7-11 of convenience water stores....quick and cheap!
ReplyDeleteSally! I seem to appreciate all things that are blue just like you! Great hunt of blue around! My BM is posted #8.
ReplyDeletejust a quick visit here Sally, happy Blue Monday!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! I've never seen anything like it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday!
"Happy Blue Monday Sally"!

Hi Sally! I think the water in FL has a high iron content. Here in MS, it tastes good. Our frig. water is filtered but tap water is safe to drink too. Your blue pictures are beautiful...Christine

ReplyDeleteArctic water... is like the cans with the Breton salty air ?
Great find Sally. Cute store, it looks like a giant blue mushroom. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Monday!
My Blue Monday.
Happy Blue Monday to all!
ReplyDeleteWe installed a device under the kitchen sink to make our water drinkable...it is pure luxury to be able to drink tap water, people don't realize that and take it for granted!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday!

Happy Blue Monday!

Good morning Sally, I hope you are doing well and enjoying a bit of cooler weather my friend. We are having mostly 70's during the day and 40's at night. Perfect weather with lots of sunshine. Not much color yet. Probably in two weeks it will be gorgeous here.
ReplyDeleteThe 'Artic' water station is a surprise isn't it? what will they think of next. I just read it is the biggest budget buster if you buy water all the time. The better thing to do is filter your own with any one of the products sold for that purpose. MUCH cheaper. However, these prices are seemingly very fair. BUT...how good is that water REALLY? I do like the idea that one can recycle their containers. Interesting post Sally.
Have a wonderful day.
Love ya, Jeanne
Sometimes one just has to buy a bottle of water or two...or more! Great blue "shots"!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday!

Hi, Sally!
ReplyDeleteGreat blue post.
Happy Blue Monday.
What a great find and post for your Blue Monday. If you have to pay for the water, I hope it taste good. We are on well water here and my hubby loves the taste of our water.
ReplyDeleteHi Sally,
ReplyDeleteI've lived here forever and still don't drink the water. Great job, I'll bet the spring water is better. Have a good day.
Cindy
Water is a serious topic around here. We almost always seem to be in a near drought situation. And, our water bills are sky high.
ReplyDeleteI do like the idea of being able to fill bottles instead of always having new bottles.
Happy Blue Monday, Sally.
Wow! I've never seen anything like this. It sure would be convenient. Happy Blue Monday! La
ReplyDeleteLovely blue post, Sally,
ReplyDeleteIt's great to be back.
I have one blue bracelet in this bunch that is my ticket to link with you wonderful folks!
Best wishes,
Anna
I agree with others that you always find some interesting blue things! Our water is safe to drink straight from the tap!
ReplyDeleteHi Sally,
ReplyDeleteNice blue! I have lived a few places where the water really didn't taste very good but never found anything like this. It looks really reasonable too. What a good idea someone had!
Valerie
Our water is delicious well water - but this a is a unique find!
ReplyDeletecute post sally, we have an ice machine close by & you see people getting ice at all hours of the night , even in the wee hours LOL
ReplyDeleteHelen
look cool ! happy blue Monday
ReplyDeleteInteresting post, Sally. I have to buy bottled water when I visit some places if the water tastes funny to me. Otherwise I drink tap water. I'd say this is the way to go at 5 gallons for $1. That's pretty reasonable.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday. ~ Sarah
I keep small bottles of water in the fridge for when we go to ballgames and such..but we drink tap water. Lubbock water tastes good to us.

ReplyDeleteHi Sally
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a good idea. I don't like the taste of my water at my house all the time other. Sometimes its better tasting and I tend to buy bottled water but buy the larger bottles.
Maybe you should give this a try.
Happy Blue Monday
Judi
Hi Sally! I just had to pop in and check on you and see how you're doing! And there you are buying water!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been there too at times. We have a filter we use and our water tastes fine. But in New Mexico it tasted like dirt! I just couldn't drink dirt! :)
Hope you're doing well, sweet friend.
Shelia ;)
That's a good one Sally! I saw something like that in our area, but the shape is different!
ReplyDeletehave a good one....:) mine is up!
Hi Sally, thanks for the reminder for Columbus Day. I preposted Blue Mon. several days ago and I wasn't thinking of Columbus Day. I fixed it!!!Smile
ReplyDeleteJeanne, again
Hey my dh is our local water boy..lol He works for the water company here. Have a great week Sally!
ReplyDeleteIve seen the drinking water stations inside grocery stores, but nothing like this. It's kinda cool, especially since the weather in Florida gets so warm!
ReplyDeleteHello again Sally,
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my post for Blue Monday.
I do indeed have a cobalt blue bracelet on this post. If you look at the fifth photo you will see it. Blue is blue and purple is purple. I do not mean that the purple jewellery is blue. I have one truly cobalt blue bracelet that does not have any gold-coloured beads. This is why I have liked up with you. It is really blue!
I'll look at your books now!
Best wishes,
Anna
We have to buy our water here. Ours from the tap tastes like dirt...ugh. We moved here 7 years ago and bought a water dispenser within the first week.
ReplyDeleteWonderful "blue" pictures.
ReplyDeletePerfect for Blue Monday. I enjoyed getting caught up on your other Blue Monday posts. I especially love that Blue Jay. I'm glad you found it. I haven't been to Tuesday Morning in quite a while. I always find something there I can't live without. LOL
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Charlotte
Oh, and I intended to tell you I enjoyed the cartoons too. I miss your Sunday cartoons on S.S.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte
Hi Sally, I have learned something new today. I had no idea you could purchase water in that way. It's amazing. I mean what will they think of next? I hope you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteHi Sally, It's good to hear from you. I remember the taste of that Florida water when we moved to Venice (south of you).... That's the only place I have ever lived where I had to buy water.... But--it was worth every dime we paid....
ReplyDeleteGreat BLUE Monday post...
Hope you are enjoying your new home and life in the Tampa area.
Hugs,
Betsy
Do you think the water is blue?
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute water kiosk! We are blessed to have wonderful water in our well. Thanks for stopping by today!
ReplyDeleteBecky K.
We love our Lake Michigan water here in Illinois but the water at our lakehouse in Michigan is well water and doesn't taste very good at all. We have a water cooler. We can buy water at the grocery store in a self serve machine thingie!
ReplyDeleteI will check out your book giveaway. I also have to join Blue Monday...I feel rude, I haven't been doing parties every week like I used to but I love going to new blogs!
Have a great week, Sally.
Oh my word!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very interesting water place there indeed!
Thanks for hosting each week!!
