Gratitude
May we be grateful each day for the wonderful things God gives us.More Than A Day
As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we're poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.
We have friends and family we love;
We have guidance from heaven above.
We have so much more
Than they sell in a store,
We're wealthy, when push comes to shove.
So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
Enjoy what you've got;
Realize it's a lot,
And you'll make all your cares go away.

I think I still have the dinner on my thighs from two years ago. Heee Kathy
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giggle Sally! No thanksgiving traditions or celebrations here, but the thought of the turkey and stuffings is enough to start!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sally, Please come over and have coffee and pumpkin bread with me. Wouldn't that be a treat for us? Wear your coat. Brrr.
ReplyDeleteYes, time does get away from us. The poem is a good reminder to realize what we have for sure. Nice post for the pre-Thanksgiving days.
Hugs...Jeanne
Oh that was a good one girl! lol Those are grapevine balls I get from Hobby Lobby..I just cut long strips of ribbon and threaded it thru and thumb tacked it to the ceiling at the different heights....don't take much to make me happy! lol lol Have a great day sweetie!

Good Morning Sally
ReplyDeleteThat joke makes me think thats for sure. I'm sure it is a reminder for us all to be thankful and grateful throughout the year. Thanksgiving shouldn't be the reminder but an added special day to lifelong, all time gratitude.
Thats a lovely poem....thank you for sharing.
Hope this is a special Sunday for you.
Judi

Hey Sally! You've been tagged!! Visit my blog for instructions and leave me a comment if you're gonna do it!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, Sally! Maybe we are thankful everyday but on Thanksgiving, we say it! That is probably what happens in many of our homes. Thanks for the cartoon.
ReplyDeleteI saw your comment about the collages on Dawn's blog. I downloaded Photoscape (I did a google search to find the website) anyway and you can do all kinds of things with your photos with that program. I had asked BJ where she gets the cool borders around the photos on her blog and this is the program she recommended. My recent playing around with pictures on my blog are through the use of this program. I am still learning all the ins and outs of using it, but it is fun with so cool results. Anyway, I thought I would jump in there and tell you what I found out. Hope you get inspired to try it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great reminder of how blessed we are! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDead Center! As always your post is excellent. You put a smile on my face and then gave me something to meditate on. Thanks!

Great poem Sally. Yes, we have so much to be thankful for. I guess it's good to have one day a year to really focus on that, but I think we need to be aware of it every day.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

We should be grateful more than one day a year...but if we ate like that more than one day a year I'd need a crane to get my butt off the chair!
ReplyDeleteA very nice post, Sally, thanks ~
