Kelli from Kelli's House hosts Show and Tell Friday. If you have something special to share, this is the place to show it. It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, or a treasured collection. Go to her place to join in the fun!
The other day, Shay from Thirty and Holding shared a little teapot that she bought at Tuesday Morning. It's designed by Paul Cardew and it's all about books. You KNOW how I love books! It is so cute that she almost made me covet it. Now, I know that the Bible tells me not to covet, and coveting means that I’d like to have that teapot and not let Shay have it. Frankly, I understand that is not nice; Mama taught me to always be nice.
So I told Johnny that I really, REEALLY wanted to go get a teapot just like that one. We called three Tuesday Morning stores and found one that had it. It was a 40-minute drive (one-way) but Johnny was convinced that it was worth it to keep me from coveting. Take a look. Even the box is precious! See, it's covered in books!
Look at this teapot. Now you know that it was meant for me. I've taught every title and author displayed: Macbeth, Tom Sawyer, 1984, Shakespeare, Wells, Twain, Dickens, Carroll, and Orwell.
My camera does not take pictures as clearly as the one above that I found online, but here's a shot of the back.
The knob on top is two books. The title of the top one is Once Upon A Tea-time by Paul Cardew. I love it so much I could squeal.
After we got home with my prize, I looked up Paul Cardew and discovered that he's a pretty famous designer of ceramics and teapots in particular. He made my teapot in England and production has halted! Folks, this is a collectible!
I LOVE it. I predict that there is going to be a flurry of activity at Tuesday Morning today. Can't get better, tea and a good book, what a recipe. It's 6:30, do ya think there opened yet? Have a fab weekend.
