I want to share a good egg with you today--a blue one! See it sitting beside the rabbit?
I can hear some of you expert crafters gasping. Oops, I see one fainting. I told you folks that I was not crafty, and now here is proof. The rabbit is a wooden one that I bought many years ago. I spray painted him beige. That's it. Nothing more. No ribbon around his neck, no flowers pasted on his ears, no color for his eyes. Now you believe me, don't you? Not a speck of craftiness in me.
Anyway, the topic today is all about the blue egg. It's a good egg because I did not have to do anything but purchase it.
Look how lacy it is. I really like lacy ceramic things. I always have.
Here's the pretty top. Now, to ease back into the outer edges of blogland, I'll tell you that I bought this good blue egg at Dollar Tree for $1.00.

ReplyDeleteExcellent eye for beauty, no matter the price!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
I love lacy ceramic things too. This egg is beautiful. I am also impressed that you spray painted the bunny.I've never spray painted, and I'm crafty!
ReplyDeleteMan you even have a little Vignette going on there Sally. I'm proud of you. I'm laughing out loud. Too funny. You gals sure have great dollar stores.
ReplyDeleteHappy Good Blue Egg Monday.
Love Claudie
oxoxoxo
Feels good to be back

ReplyDeleteAmanda (aka Cottage Contessa)
How pretty that egg is! I would never have thought that you got it for a dollar. I just love bargain shopping!
ReplyDeleteKady
I can't believe you found that beauty for a dollar! I love lacy things...but I live with a houseful of bull-in-china-shop-types......
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Susan
Hi Sally,
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this! I love the blue egg and it got even better when you said dollar tree! Great deal! Cindy
That is just beautiful, Sally...at the Dollar store?? FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteTell me, do you have trouble getting on Claudie's blog? I have so much trouble that it stalls my computer and I have to turn it off, re-boot and start over. Is it just my computer??
If it is just me, would you please tell her for me that the reason I never leave comments is because of the trouble I have on her blog. Sure appreciate it...
xo bj
Great Find! The egg is beautiful. By the way, I like your rabbit just the way it is!
ReplyDeleteThat is my kind of crafting - you made it all the way to the checkout counter;)! ~ Tee
ReplyDeleteThe rabbit looks cute and I am sure there are others who would love to dress it up but it is nice the way it is. Love your blue bargain egg. I limit my shopping to thrifting these days. The dollar shop is dangerous for me. Too many little things I have to have and nowhere to put them all.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first Blue Monday-what fun! Love that egg. You just can't beat the dollar store! Happy Blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteKate
Wow, I'm off to the Dollar Tree! Thanks for letting me join in on the fun!
ReplyDeletethat's a great bargain for such a pretty piece.
ReplyDeleteBlue ceramic is pretty, especially your egg - Good buy!
ReplyDeleteLovely lacy ceramic egg! Such a gorgeous powder blue!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that bunny!! The egg looks sweet with him and makes for a lovely spring table display. Well done! Happy Blue...
ReplyDelete*smiles*
Kim
beauty is in the eye of the beholder and not the price label!! the egg is indeed gorgeous. Take care, Judith
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sally. Your post gave me a good chuckle. You PAINTED THE RABBIT. You are hiding something from us Sally. Only crafter's would paint a rabbit and select a pretty color too. Mmmmmm. Your egg is so pretty. I thought it was Italian and expensive. You got me there. It is all about being tasteful and realizing a pretty egg like that would look awesome when all of your home has lovely things. Sally, you are the good egg here. BIG smile.
ReplyDeleteHugs xo...Jeanne
Good morning Sally, what a great find. Looks like you are getting ready for Easter. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteKathleen
LOVE the egg!!! :-) IT's very, very cute! reminds me of something I have after my grandmothers :-)
ReplyDeleteMonica
Dollar Tree is just one of those places where it pays to look cause you never know what you might find. That egg is just adorable and no need to dress the bunny up, your egg does that just fine.
ReplyDeleteTabbikta's Thoughts
Your ceramic egg is beautiful! :o)
ReplyDeleteNo way...$1 at the dollar store! That's unreal! I wouldn't mind having about a dozen of those myself...how pretty!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday, Sally.
ReplyDeleteI like your bunny just the way it is. I'm not very crafty either, and I appreciate the simple beauty of your bunny.
And, that blue egg is so...pretty. I love it.
Such a deal! Hard to beat finding this for a buck.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thrifty find...the egg is exquisite!
ReplyDeleteCool finds. By the way, I love your new header photo. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, everyone - Monday again! My grandmother had one of those eggs, but it was not blue. I believe hers was a pale pink, and had lavender flowers on top.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone has a great start to their week.

What a great find! You may not think yourself crafty, but you have a good eye.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday!
Your egg is so pretty! It looks like those elaborate sugar eggs I used to get in my Easter basket every year. Also love the rabbit, even without ribbon or flowers. And I'm glad to know I'm not the only un-crafty person out here.
ReplyDeleteShoot, I forgot about Blue Monday and your kind invitation to join in. Today I did a Met Monday post but next week I will do a Blue Monday one. You are right I have plenty to post about in blue and white. I have pretty much run out of makeover projects ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sue

Morning Sally...what a beautiful egg and what a steal for just $1! Girl I love the bunny just as he is..I wouldn't put no flowers or ribbon on him either..I'd be more inclined to rub alittle dirt on him and hot glue some moss on him here and there and....oh sorry did I over stay my welcome....I get the hint...Have a great week sweetie! lol

I like the shade of blue, Sally. Thanks for being our hostess!!
ReplyDeleteBlue is my favorite color and I like the price of the egg. I know, I know, this is not much of a comment but it may be the best you get from a man all day--maybe.
ReplyDeleteHi Sally,
ReplyDeleteBet Dollar Tree will have a run on these...it looks great, and the price is even better!
Happy Blue Monday to you!
$1 or $100 - It is still a beautiful egg. Sally
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my Blue Monday! I love your little blue egg. It is so precious. I have been going to our Dollar Tree too. We just home from there a little bit ago too. Also love the new header picture you have there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little blue egg. I love the pretty little flowers on the top. I have got to get to the dollar store. The only one I know of is about 20 miles away, but it looks like it would be worth it. Hugs, Marty
