It's like our church! :) As much as I like the convenience of having a Bible on my computer, there's still something to be said about having the words in your hands.

Oh, Sally...I do use my computer for Bible study. But,NOT in a church!! :O) The wonderful thing I love is the Verse A Day widget on our sidebars. If I don't have a chance to read a bit in my Bible one day, I at least get to read the verse. Oh, I love that! It is just a small way of keeping HIM close to me during the entire day...I have at least "touched base" with HIM during that day. HAPPY SUNDAY, bj
I love the sound of turning the pages in the bible. I need to carry it and be able to underline and make notes. I prefer the book to the computer for study. Kathy b
This is not right. LOL. Sally I pray we never take our computers to church. I am rushing to get ready for church right now. My first Sunday since surgery. We would have gone last week but we were in FL. My ex-dil only has a few more days and she is sedated. I am so thankful we went last weekend when she was able to visit.

I like this! Great cartoon, but why not???? I read the Bible on line all the time. I always read the KJV but when I don't understand, I go to other translations. If I want a cartoon version, I go to the Message. Sometimes I just have to laugh at that one.
My husband uses a PDA in church -- he can look up the reference, make notes, etc. I often use the computer if I am studying something -- it's nice to have tabs open for the Scripture, a Bible study aid, and notes, rather than having several books open all over the table. But for just reading or for church, I like my actual physical Bible. I wouldn't condemn electronic usage even in those cases -- whatever means people use to get into the Word is great!
I still love the feel of just entering church and being amongst other believers. It just warms my soul. Thanks for stopping by and your always gracious comments. Hugs, Marty
I wouldn't want to do this in the assembly but it does make me laugh. It is a sign of the times. O.S. Hawkins preached for us today and a loud--and I do mean loud, cell phone went off just as he said he wished he could call the apostle Paul up to the pulpit. He didn't miss a beat he just said, "Maybe that's him calling now."
If it gets some of the male species to actually "read" the scripture then I am all for it. I too use the real deal "the Bible" my pages and all. Just wish the people that are on this gizmo for other reasons would read the scripture even if it means on this gizmo! Thanks Sally! Karyl(Carol)
Funny it quite possible true especially for the younger generation. Sometimes you do what you have to make sure they're reading what they need to be reading.
Sally, I love technology as much as the next person but, my Bible in my hands is the what I want. Our small church is over 200 years old and we don't have large screens up front or any techno stuff at all, for that matter, and we like it that way! LOL!
