AWK! Did You See That?

Yesterday, as I was getting ready to go out to dinner with our son and favorite daughter-in-law, I saw this:

a white eyebrow--my first!

"Hello," it waved to me. "I've been hiding, but here I am!"

Quietly, I opened the bathroom drawer where I keep my tweezers, and without letting it see them. TWICK! I yanked that sucker out!

(sigh) Now, I KNOW I'm old. Shades of Andy Rooney.

  2. Oh, please don't get eyesbrows like Andy! Those are so unruly! You really crack me up, Sally! This aging thing is for the birds!

  3. Don't feel too bad, I have more than one but I do hate them, yup, I HATE them, not dislike, it is a full out hate.
Be careful about plucking those suckers, you don't want bald spots. I find that trimming it short helps it to blend into the background and then when I put on a little eyebrow makeup, I forget it's there.
Every time I see Andy Rooney, I wish someone would take scissors to those brows. I keep my hubby's trimmed so he won't look like that. He's on his own with the nose hairs! lol

  4. LOL Funny!! How we fret over signs of aging!! I have pulled a few of those little suckers out myself but I think I am taking it all in stride.

    Next, wrinkles! :-(

  6. This is funny! I don't think I have any gray in my eyebrows yet, but my hair on the other hand is getting rather gray. I have given up keeping it covered up.

  10. Hi Sally, well, I did have a good chuckle today at your expense. I color my gray hair and my eyebrows. LOL. I really dislike gray hair. Since I will be 70 this year, I am wondering when I should not color my hair. My dh likes it colored. He is partial to my red hair. My sister went gray and frankly it aged her so much. She finally went back to blond, (her real hair color)and she looks much better.

Have a happy day my friend.

    Hugs...Jeanne

  12. I haven't found any grey eyebrows yet. I have decided to let my hair go grey. One more hair cut out to get the last of the color out. It is my chin hairs that I hate. I've had electrolosis a few times, but that hasn't killed them all. grrr

  13. It was during my first pregnancy that the white hairs started coming in on my head. I was in my early 20's then so I have had plenty of time to get used to them. Last year I gained a white EYELASH. lol It is longer than the rest. I tried to pluck it but OUCH! I just trim it now. lol Welcome to the long white hair club!

  15. Wow! You're young! The first one. The pesky rascals will keep coming. The day will come when you won't mind as much. You will continue to pluck them out--but not so fast and not as often.

  16. Andy Rooney's definitely need a trim!

It's funny how the white ones go wild, too. I've had to pay more attention to me eyebrows in the last year than I have since I was a teen.

  17. Hey it has nothing to do with age (I have had more than one!) all it is, is running low on ink...oh no, maybe that does have something to do with age. H E L P !

  29. Yeah, what is up with that. One day it's not even there and then over night it grows a foot. If I get em in my nose you will hear me scream.

  30. Oh no! And that little sucker is long too! I haven't found any white eyebrow hairs yet, but all of a sudden, I have one that wants to grow long. I have to keep plucking it. They actually have eyebrow shadow and sticks for filling in spots. My eyebrow hair is more sparse as I age, so now I have to do this.

Anyhow, I have found white chin hairs! This is wrong on two different counts: Number one, I am not supposed to have chin hairs, and Number two, they shouldn't be white! lol

  31. Way too funny. I have not noticed white eyebrows and when I do I think I will just faint. I have my eyebrows threaded. It is quick and only hurts for one minute and your eyebrows are not all red from the wax. They do not itch after being threaded. We have a group of lovely young ladies from India who own a shop here in Atlanta. So honestly if there are any white hairs sprouting she is not telling me which is just fine with me! Andy Rooney definitely is eyebrow challenged!

  32. Well Sally here is the worst part. The day will come when you will trying and trying to pull out the stray, crazed hair at the outer edge of your eyebrow. You will pinch yourself with the tweezer trying to grab that little sucker when with your old, tired eyesight you will finally see you have been trying to pull out a wrinkle, a crease a crowsfoot at the corner of your eye. No wonder it hurt when you tugged on it. I haven't figured out how to pluck my eyebrows while wearing my glasses.

  33. Oh, holy moley! At least your brows are light! Mine are DARK and thick...think Susan Boyle! Just kidding, they do have a bit more shape! But the "whites" do show up a lot more!!!!! YIKES! Praise God for tweezers!
