I love my new location! I've discovered that I'm close to several blogging buddies. I recently got to meet one of my favorite bloggers IN PERSON!
I had lunch with Mrs. Magpie (Sheila) of The Quintessential Magpie. We each drove to a restaurant called Mimi's Cafe. I know it's hard to believe, but she's even better in person than she is on her blog.
*****Today is a First for Bloggers as we are both posting today about our lunch.*****
At the front entrance, I spotted this rooster lamp and just knew that I had to share this with Blogland.
Isn't he pretty? He could hold a bit of greenery tucked into the center of his back.
Mimi's Cafe is a charming place, filled with pretties meant to catch the eye.
Someone named "Princess" came in to eat. See the balloon crown? Did you notice how they made it look as if there was a balcony? Notice all the blues: pictures, signs, tablecloths, clothing, even a United States flag.
So much to see.
Sheila suggested we title this picture, "Two Chicks at Lunch."
Mrs. Magpie came loaded down with gifts for me; just look at these goodies! I felt as if it were my birthday and Christmas all wrapped up into one day. She sure knows how to make a person feel special. Thank you, Sheila. (Whatever made her choose to give me so much blue?)
I love spider mums, and this brilliant yellow is such a good companion to the beautiful blue and white ginger jar. Blue Christmas napkins can be seen in the background. Mrs. Magpie brought them for me to use, "because you'll be in your new home by Christmas." She thought of everything!

Take a closer look at the stamp. It has a bit of blue in it. Mr. Magpie made it himself! It's a real U. S. postage stamp! Isn't he creative? It says, "Santa is coming. Have you been a good magpie?"

Oh dear Sally, I was soooooo hoping to see a picture of Mrs. Magpie. Well the magpie bird is pretty, and I'm sure Sheila is also pretty, but darn-it all. She's a very kind soul, and a wonderful blogging friend. You were very fortunate to have spent time with her. Your gifts are lovely and blue. Those chicks are just the cutest ever!
ReplyDeleteBTW is that a little maple leaf at the bottom of your posts? Does it have anything to do with us being Canadians? I've been meaning to ask.
and... that rooster, is it really 7 ft. tall? I would spray paint it in a N.Y. minute lol
Happy Blue Monday Sally

ReplyDeleteThis is the second time that I am playing "Blue Monday", but this time I'm posting on my jewellery blog, "Anna's Adornments" and letting Sara (aka "SaraKatt skriver/Sara Cat writes") have the day off.
ReplyDeleteThe focus of Anna's post is "Blue tools". Blue is a colour that is often used for objects that are used on a daily basis. It's basic.
Enjoy!

Sounds like you two had a great day. I haven't eaten at Mimi's --but have heard that they have the best blueberry muffins in the world--at least the biggest ones.
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout a picture of the two of you together??? That's what I truly love about blogging ---seeing the PEOPLE. Seeing the 'things' is nice, but seeing people is BETTER.

Oooh!, I'm going to share this with my BFF in St. Pete. When they were out here last Fall, they pronounced Mimi's ribs the best they'd ever tasted ...But didn't think Florida had any Mimi's.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely my fav restaurant, but I can't seem to muster the nerve to try anything but the quiche.
BTW, "The Love Revolution" arrived last night ... I'm so eager to hunker down with it come Saturday!
Have a great week!
