Some of my favorite Christmas decorations are pictured in this shot of our Christmas tree from last year. Miss Piggy is one of my favorites; I seem to relate to her. (Don't you even ask!) She is handmade and was a gift from a thoughtful friend.
The large pink ornament, the little pink angel, and the large pink and purple (lower right) ornaments were made by me and those nasty finger-hurting pins and spangles. They're decades old, and I love them.
Then the larger angel in white is holding a string of pale, pink hearts is another gift from another wonderful friend. The gold bows were made by Lauren, my oldest grandchild, and one of the great loves of my life.
The little wooden house just wanted to get in the picture; ignore him as he's not really special, just old!

Andrea from Arise to Write passed on the Circle of Friends Award, Saturday, December 5th. Then the following day, Cathy from Melodies and Hymn Songs gave me the same award. I’ve needed a bit of time to get around to accepting it as life has been unusually hectic around here.
I am supposed to tell five things that I love to do, and here they are:
Spend time with family.
Spend time with old friends.
Spend time with new friends.
Attend my new church home.
Blog and visit Blogging friends.
I am passing this award to each of you, because you are my Circle Of Friends!

Very nice! I love the pretty ornaments but the ones with a history or story are extra-special.
ReplyDeleteI love all your special ornies, even the old little house. I love to see a tree decorated from the heart with old friends from years gone by. I know so many younger people now had rather have the modern designer trees, but they will never measure up to ours with our special treasures.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited about your move. Congrats.
Merry Christmas
Molly
Sally, I loved seeing your special collections! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Muppet is Kermit, but I love Miss Piggy's quotes. LOL! She is a hoot.
Those are beautiful ornies you made. WOW!
And how neat to have some your sweet granddaughter made for you.
I don't want to ignore the little house because it's cute! ;-)
Happy PS to you, Sally!
XO,
Sheila :-)

ReplyDeleteI have a huge collection of ornaments given to me by students over the years I was teaching and used to love trimming a tree each year, but since I've retired I find I do less decorating each year. Thanks for sharing the Circle of Friends award along with things you love to do. I'm glad to have encountered you in the 'virtual' world. Happy Pink Saturday ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
I enjoyed seeing things that are important to you. Sometimes, the little things more than bigger. I loved all your ornaments. Trust all goes well on moving day.
ReplyDeleteI loved your sweet ornaments. And I also loved the little house.. Happy Pinks and have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe don't need elaborate decorations or a big tree or numerous gifts under a tree. All any of us needs is to carry the spirit of Christmas in our hearts and to share it all year long with everyone we meet.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your blog with me today. Yes, I'm crazy about ♥PINK♥ but I'm also devoted to visiting some of the nicest blogs in cyberspace.
Hoping your weekend is filled with peace.

You do have one like mine Sally. I do remember my Aunty Jeannine a long time ago making these ornaments. I think I was 14 or so. Looking and thinking how crazy her fingers were going to look after making a few of those things lol well, look at me know going gaga over them. I really love them. So much work goes into each and every one of them.
ReplyDeleteMary is do doll. I hope I get to meet her one day.
I love miss Piggy of course. She was my fave big mouth on the muppets...I could relate lol
Happy Blue Monday Sally
Love Claudie
