~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I love to read and maintain a book blog where I review what I've read. I'm planning a giveaway in a couple of weeks.
In my search for things
blue, I spotted this beautiful
blue library sign. It stands outside of my local library.
This is the side of the library. I captured the sky and the flag because they both contain more
blue.
The city began as a train station around 1910. To commemorate the town's beginning, the library has an interesting 3-D brick sculpture of a train pointed toward the entrance. You can see the entrance by looking at the right side of this photo by the white railing.
Here's a close-up. I think it's quite unique with its 3-D effect. As we walk through the doors, the train is aimed right at us.
I love our libraries. I am lucky to have 4 different puplic libraries wthin 5 minutes of my home.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, I love to read. The library is my very favorite place to go. I used to buy books, but that became costly. I just go and enjoy the latest from the library.
ReplyDeleteYes I love to read too, and most of my fiction, when I get a chance, comes from the library.
ReplyDeleteLovely blue sign and sky.
Hugs, Jan
You once again found a unique and interesting blue. Because of problems with eyes I no longer read a great deal, but I do avail myself of talking books. Have a great day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteI always visit our local library. In fact tomorrow, I will go there to return all the books that I have borrowed for it will due very soon. Love the sculpture of the train.
Hi Sally, wow, this is so cool, so sad people right in where I live are not so adept with reading, thus public libraries are not a hit.. posted mine..
ReplyDeleteI like the train feature. That was a creative concept to tie to city history.
And, I love to read. But, I have to control my addiction in order to go to work. I am always torn to put my book down.
Hi Sally, We so appreciate our library! Sky blue is always an inspiring color...a perfect backdrop for every thing in this world!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sally, Boy there are lots of Bloggers signed up after me. I linked after midnight before I went to bed. I meant to come back early this morning but we slept late. A rare occasion for me.
ReplyDeleteYour Library is huge and beautiful. I love the history and the train on the building. A lot of thought went into the construction of this wonderful building. My mother was an avid reader and she would have loved this library. She actually read out the library in her town and had to change to another. Hard to believe huh?
Gotta get going. Our church is making baby quilts to send to China. They will be tied instead of quilted. I am so sad for these poor people.
Have a wonderful day.
Love, Jeanne
I used to visit the library all the time when my girls were younger, but haven't been in about 6 years, sadly enough. I do love to read...mostly non-fiction. Happy Blue Monday, Sally!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great train relief on that library....such an awesome nod to the history of your city! And what DARLING grandkiddos in their sweet Spring Break shirts. Yes, in the olden days, we did call it Easter Vacation. Gotta keep the church out of the state, I guess. :(
ReplyDeleteOur skies are blue in KCMO today!!!! It's a happy Blue Monday here, too! Have a great day!
Dana
Morning Sally...what a great Library....I use to go to ours all the time...but it has been years since I went...they actually rebuilt it...I need to go back and check it out! I posted a little Blue for you girl...thanks for hosting...love ya sweetie...Picket
ReplyDeleteI love your library! It reminds me of the one I used to go to in San Antonio TX when I was a teen. Oddly enough, I have a library shot for today, too (great minds thinking alike, and all that).
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday!
~Joy @ Joysweb
That is a very nice library. We only have a small anex library that is connected to our county seat library. We are fortunate that we can place an order for books we are looking for and it will be sent over from the county library. ~~Sherry~~
ReplyDeleteLove to read and I use the library a lot - at least lately! Great resources there.
ReplyDeleteA great use of blue, most people's favorite color. Yes, I'm an avid reader, always have been. Love the treasure of used books.
ReplyDeleteI love the Library and love to read....I have a real large one near my home so I consider myself lucky. Because there is a great variety of books, etc........
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your Library with us. Happy Blue Monday!!!!!
We love our library - we're fortunate to have an excellent children's reading program in the summer.
I bet you read a lot of books.... I do like to read and pick up magazines of different kinds to read whenever I can...and I'm back into reading before I go to bed. Thats a real treat part of my day these days. I am reading novels lately.
Happy Blue Monday and springy skies...
*hugs*
Good evening! This is my first time posting to Blue Monday. Love the concept!
ReplyDeleteHi Most Blue One! I love libraries and I don't want anything to do with those Kindles or mechanic things.
ReplyDeleteWell my tiny toe is still a bit bruised and hurts it I poke on it. So I don't poke on it much! :)
I know you're weather is probably pretty perfect like ours! :) You know, I've had that cross tassel up for a few years and thought about taking it down. But since you like it - I won't! :)
