Isn't technology wonderful? It's a convenience to watch a movie in our home, played on our television--especially a movie that I planned to see but missed as I was in a coma when it was released this summer.
So, I was excited to watch Cars 2 recently. I admit it; I'm child-like, and I do love cartoons! We simply push a button or two on our remote, and pay the fee when our cable bill arrives. Then, we watch.
And that's about all the nice things I can say about this film. I suggest you save your rental fee on this one. There's no plot, and no true moral theme (which is a surprise for a Pixar movie). Many of the voices have accents, which make the dialog difficult to understand. I felt sorry for the children watching when adults have troubles comprehending a film. (sigh) What a bomb!
It's Sally--lovely name, and it's the perfect color for Blue Monday!

Really?! We were able to get a copy of this a few months back but I have not had time to watch it yet. Now I know why my little tot never requested to watch this flick again. Unlike the Cars 1. thanks for the review Sally!
ReplyDeleteHope you will be able to find a little blue on my post :)
have a great week!
I never seen the cars 1 and I sure won't watch the cars 2, thanks for the review Ms. Sally. Hope all is well with you and your family. Thanks for hosting

I haven't seen yet Cars 2; but I like Cars 1. Thanks for the useful review. It's a pity...

Really? I was waiting for that Cars 2. I saw that Car 1 and i'm looking forward for the Cars2. I hope i can watch that soon.
ReplyDeleteHappy MOnday Sally...
Hi Sally, Yes, the wonder of watching movies we missed at the theater on our TV is awesome. It is a good thing we didn't pay movie theater prices at times. Sally, the blue car in the movie is cute. I can see why you like that part of the movie. BIG Smile!
ReplyDeleteI still pray for your return to health and that you will be stronger than ever.
Blessing and concern always,
Jeanne
We don't have much trouble with accents. Probably because we're used to hearing many different ones on our screens besides Australian. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this movie but I was meaning to. Maybe I should just pass. :)
ReplyDeleteMy Blue Monday.
Oh! Sorry to hear about you being in a coma this week! Hope you have recovered completely and are OK now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review of that film! As for me, I rarely watch TV, and I don't go to the cinema very often! My other hobbies take too much time! He he he!

Have a nice and happy week, Sally****
I have seen Cars 2 and I love it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday!
Haven't seen Cars 2 but loved Cars! Sally is a cute car and a very nice name for a very nice person!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Blue Monday!

Hey, Sally! It's good to be able to express your opinions, when you really want.
ReplyDeleteHow many nuances of blue are out there?
Did you know that the giraffe has blue tongue?

Love the car named Sally but am sorry the movie was a bust. I haven't seen it but do find that to be the case so often with follow up movies. Although, like you, I usually think Pixar does a good job with a message and the quality of the films.
ReplyDeleteOh.. I love the first part of this movie and it makes me excited to watch Cars 2! ;) Joining Blue Monday for the first time! ♥
ReplyDeleteHi Sally! My husband and I took our grandchildren ages 8 and 6 to see Cars 2 on the big screen and we all loved it. We have watched the first one anytime they have visited us for the holidays and they are spellbound as they were in the theater. It was a terrific day and a great memory as they live several states away. Our granddaughter will say she doesn't like "Cars" but ends up giggling and loving either movie as much as her brother.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely Thanksgiving, Helen
What a shame you didn't like it. We love Cars 2 as much as the first one. Such a cute film and fun tip of the hat to retro spy movies.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Blue Monday, Sally!
ReplyDeleteRuh roh! My first entry (No. 51) has the wrong link, Sally. Can you delete it, please? No. 52 is correct. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWatching cartoons usually makes me happy but not always. Sounds like Cars II is something I can miss. I did enjoy Finding Nemo though. Hope you have a wonderful and stress free week.
ReplyDelete♥, Susan
We just loved the movie. We went and seen it at the drive in and took the grand kids.
ReplyDeleteHi Sally! My kids were saying just the other day that they wanted to see that one. Have you seen the first Cars? Have a great week!

hello all!!!!
ReplyDeleteheading back to Denver tomorrow..
love to all

This movie has never been my thing. Children, especially boys, love it no matter what. In fact, I am getting a young fellow one for his Christmas.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear the movie was disappointing... I wouldn't go to see it anyway... but I have a feeling my grands will go... and they'll probably like it whether they understand it or not... Kiddos!
ReplyDeleteAw, that's too bad. But how neat to have a blue car with your name? :-)
ReplyDeleteNever seen that movie but my husband like it and keep on watching it again on the DVD.
ReplyDeleteJoining you Meme this week Sally.

Thanks!
I have not seen either movie but I like this blue color better than the red...Christine
ReplyDeleteGoodness, bit by bit hearing more of what you went through, I'm ever so much more thankful you're doing better and better. What a trek.
ReplyDeleteWe almost rented that movie the other night. Glad we didn't. I wondered about being able to hear the dialogue. Seems so many people mutter their words or run them together enough to be unintelligible. We often turn on the subtitles but that's so distracting!
Yes, what a wonderful Blue Sally car! Doesn't it just make you Smile? (Unintended pun)
Great to visit and participate today.
Thanks! Love & Hugs, Jenn
Beautiful color on Sally. I wish you a happy week.
ReplyDeleteSorry you didn't like the movie, that is always a big let down. Happy Blue Monday! Hope you like the next movie you see a lot better. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy best regards from Romania , Sally!
ReplyDeleteThe first movies usually are the good ones worth watching again and again. I haven't watched car 2 and we heard rumors bad about it. Now I know why from your review. Thanks Sally!

Hi Sally! I love "Cars" so am loving the blue! Great post. Have a terrific week! Anne
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up on the movie.
ReplyDeleteSally! I'm so glad you're back and better.......I missed you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Spencer
Hi Sally *hugs*
ReplyDeleteWell thank you for the great review. Isn't that something that they wouldn't think that it might be difficult for everyone and yes especially children to understand. Thats unfortunate.
I have not watched any of the Cars movies and perhaps that will be one I won't start with.
I hope you are feeling REALLY good these days..and continue feeling better and better.
Hope you have a great weekend. We have some really nice weather today in the upper 50s.yay!
Judi
I will admit that Cars 2 isn't as good as Cars 1 but we still enjoyed it quite a bit. I didn't find the accents difficult at all but I watch a lot of BBC and have traveled a lot. I find my ear switches fairly easily.
