As promised, I'm sharing more about my granddaughter, Jenna's wedding. She revived the Flower Child Era! Her wedding vows were taken outdoors. Decorations were designed by Jenna's mom, Sharon, my daughter-in-law, with the help of many hands.
You might remember that the weatherman predicted 60% RAIN, but not one drop of rain came down the entire night! There even was a soft breeze. (Thank you, Lord!) Just look at that Blue sky!
Yards and yards of multi-colored material was cut and hung to help set the scene. You'll spot plenty of Blue. Our daughter-in-law is dressed in Blue and seated in the front row.
Here's two of the bridesmaids in their maxi dresses. Note that pretty Blue bird cage in front of the deck. Of course, one of the dresses is a Blue print.
Why, even her bare feet sport Blue polish! They walked on burlap runners.
The groom with his groomsmen and the pastor, who is in a Blue shirt. You can spot plenty of Blue in their attire.
The moment Matt saw his bride walking down the aisle, his face crumbled with emotion.
They wrote their own vows and read them aloud. So sweet. So special!
Afterwards, the reception was inside a beautifully decorated, air conditioned room. I only got a few shots, though.
A unique sign-in table was arranged with a pot of black ink and feather pens located to the right of a sheet of papyrus. Two love birds kiss in front of a mixture of colorful flowers. Note the Blue print of the tablecloth.
Here's a close-up shot of the darling Blue birdcage with the candle lit.
The wedding cake--placed on a cut piece of log, covered with leaves, and topped with love birds. Additional sheet cakes were brought in to serve the guests.
Jenna's ring finger has a Blue feather on it. Her rings are etched with leaves, designed by Matt and a helpful jeweler. (Yes, he sure is a romantic.)
The bride dancing with her father, our baby boy. You can get an idea of the beautiful decorations Sharon did.
Happy Blue Monday!

Hi, Sally, the wedding really does remind me of the late 60s and early 70s. Those barefeet really do say "hippie." :)

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful!! Thanks for sharing these sweet moments.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very neat wedding, one with a theme which is so popular and really opens the door to creativity. I love that they wore maxi dresses and went barefoot! Everything was lovely. I'm sure you had a lump in your throat seeing your son dance with his daughter. That makes me want to cry even if I don't know the people well!
ReplyDeleteI'm off to read your previous post.
XO,
Jane
Hi Sally! Oh, this must have been the sweetest wedding! I love outdoors weddings. Your granddaughter is gorgeous! Here eyes are piercingly beautiful! Sweet snaps and I know you're happy to see them so happy. My very best to the newlyweds. Wish my greens were blue so I could have partied with you!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hi Sally, I love your posts about the awesome and very special wedding. Everything was planned in such a different but fabulous way. The yards of fabric was a beautiful setting. I love all the photos you shared but the one of your son and granddaughter dancing is beautiful and my fave. Her dress is stunning. I am so happy for them. The emotion on the grooms face is so moving. We wish them happiness always.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry I didn't do a post on Monday. I left my glasses at our friends house in Fl. and it was days before they were returned to me. I tried to use Christina's glasses but nothing worked. Our grandson's graduation was wonderful and we had a great visit. We arrived home late yesterday to a real hard rain. Washed out roads and mud slides. Today was a nice day though.
I can't wait to hear all about the wedding in the morning.
love, Jeanne
O, I adore these kind of weddings..so unique and special.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words on a comment for me. :)
I am trying to remember the blog name of Sally that lives in Colorado.

I think she sometimes joins Blue Monday but....not sure...
just wanting to ck on her since her state is just about to burn up...and praying she is safe.
