~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love to look at bodies of water, whether it be a stream, a pond, a lake, a river, or an ocean.
On a recent drive, Johnny and I spotted this idyllic scene.
Just look at that Blue sky and the Blue water! (sigh)
Upon closer inspection, it's easy to see that the adjoining farmland is polluting the lake.
By using too much  fertilizer, the excess runs off into the lake and plants grow.
Notice the vegetation growing on top of the water to the right.
Peeking through these trees, we can see the beginnings.
Another area of the same lake shows almost total coverage.
Happy Blue Monday!
  13. Hi Sally -
    nice to be back at Blue Monday -
    thanks for still hosting!
    Those look like pond lilies overgrowing the lake? We have a serious problem with an invasive weed (forgot the name of it) here in CT. Algae too. Hope it gets resolved....
  14. Hi Sally...gosh, it's been too long since I joined in on Blue Monday. I've missed Ya'll!!!! What a cute photo on your header. As for those invasive 'Wild Lily Plants'...we have them here in Texas, too. As pretty as they are, they can sure take over in a hurry.
    Thanks for hosting. Hope you are having a great summer.
  15. That really stinks. I've seen a lot of that in many of the lakes in the area. I see people fishing and wonder if there's anything left or healthy in the water... little turtles habitat being destroyed :-( Thanks for bringing this to our attention...
  16. Ouch! That has to be fixed! :(
  21. Hi Sally, I just posted my Blue Monday post. I have tried to compose the post three time this morning and twice I had to reboot my computer and lost the posts.Yikes. They say the 3rd time is "the charm," so here it is. Finally.
    Our grands have all gone home but they left us both with a cold. Cody was sick and shard it with us. I was too tired last night to do my post. They left Sunday and some on Saturday. The quiet is so nice but we miss them already. We had a wonderful two weeks but my computer time was nil.
    The lake you shard is a beautiful setting. What a shame it is compromised by the nearby farm land. It is sad to see that situation in so many places. Our world today huh?
    Since I have been on my computer since this morning I will wish you a Happy Blue Monday and take a nap. It is only because I love you that I did this post 'three' times!!!
  24. Sorry I am slow in my comments today. Some mornings are just that way. That was a nice drive you and Johnny h ad. We have lakes in East Texas that are solid with growth, but are very interesting to see.
