Blue Monday - Senior Luncheons

Hello! It's Blue Monday! For complete instructions, just click here.

My computer needed a new hard drive! I guess I'd used it up! I took it to the Apple Store and they kept it overnight. It's all fixed and happy now, and the good news is that it only cost a little over $200. (Just think what a new computer would have cost!) Thanks for all of your good thoughts and comments last week.

See what other Blue participants have to share by clicking on their photos. Make someone's day when you wish them a Happy Blue Monday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Johnny and I belong to a large church, and every month there is a luncheon for seniors. Usually more than 200 attend. The theme for the month of August was a Luau. You'll notice the colorful Hawaiian shirts that many wore. Of course, there was plenty of Blue.
Here you see the Blue tablecloth, as well as some Blue clothing.
Notice the placemat with a Blue Hawaiian scene. The center piece contains sand and sea shells. Yes, that's pineapple upside-down cake for dessert. The hot meal has never disappointed us! They have a super cook.
These large, plastic mugs in various colors were take-home treats. They were stuffed with tissue, making the table even more festive. Of course, I took a Blue one home!
This sweet Blue card was placed on each table.
Here's a close-up for you to read.
The pastor in charge of the Joy ministry (seniors) is Phillip Hanes. Each month he wears a Blue apron. (I think it's to match his Blue eyes.) The only reason you don't see him with a huge smile is because I caught him as he was speaking. He does a fantastic job ministering to us seniors.
There's an entertainment part after we've eaten. Here, a mother/son, dressed in Blue make beautiful music for us.
We feel blessed to belong to such a group.
Happy Blue Monday!
  6. Hi Sally
    Happy Blue Monday!
    I reckon $200 is a bargain to fix your computer - but you should have told us, we'd have had a whip round for sure. Where would we be without you able to launch our Blue Monday blogs?! ;)
    Your Hawaiian church dinner looks a lot of fun.
    Aloha for a great week.
  26. Sorry, I am late again, but have to do my yard work while it is a little cooler.I think it is wonderful you have this group to share time and have fun. We are a smaller church with nothing but seniors. We barely have 200 members all total. The neighborhood I live in, no young folks to visit or come.Glad things are back working normally again.
  34. It's great that you got your computer repaired. Your church event looks like lots of fun. I particularly like the blouse the singer is wearing in the last photo, very artistic. I assume they are singing something Hawaiian, with the ukelele?
    ReplyDelete
  36. Well, my Carmen's Chronicles is now up properly.
    How nice to belong to a senior group that does such nice things. If I'd stay home long enough, I might find one. I'm living in India for six months and won't return to the San Francisco area until Dec 3.
    I am working at one of Swedish largest international bank and it is always busy this time of the year.
    But I never leave without footprints to your players and of course to you. This is the only way to thank you for hosting our party specially start of the week.
    Job well done coz I am enjoying it.
    TY you like the city tour of my hometown. Hope you will like my futures posts for the European city tours that me and GH visited.
    Happy w/end to you and your lovelies.
