I had never heard of a Gender Reveal Party, but I went to one this past Friday night! Our twenty-one-year-old granddaughter, Jenna, is pregnant with her first child. This will be our first great grandchild! The baby is due this December. We found out the gender at the party.
When we first walked in, we had to choose a pin: female (pink lips) or male (black mustache) and then pin it on. I choose the lips, and Johnny chose the mustache. (Aren't they cute?)
Everywhere we looked we saw things decorated pink and Blue.
Why, they even had a huge bowl of pink and Blue cotten candy!
A large, lit question mark was placed on this table, along with baby pictures of Jenna, the future mother and Matt, the future father. Pink and Blue napkins are to the left of the table, and a pink HER and a Blue HIM were framed and hanging on the wall.
A three-tierred cake decorated in pink and Blue sat in the center of the display table.
You can see the Blue and pink drinks in dispensers placed on the counter to the left of this shot.
Johnny and Danny, the two future great-grandfathers enjoyed the chocolate fountain. If you look closely, you'll spot the pink and Blue children's blocks piled in stacks that decorate this table.
Matt, Jenna, me, and Johnny.
The Blue circles inside the cake revealed that it's a BOY!
Our son, Allen, his wife, Sharon (the future grandparents) and Jenna and Matt.
Allen, Sharon, with their daughters: Jenna, Brittany, and Lauren.
As we left, everyone was given some chocolate. Note the Blue "HE" and pink "SHE" on the wrappers.
Happy Blue Monday!

You are right - they don't miss a trick these days. More celebration going on then we used to do at a wedding. Congrats to your family! Sally
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun party. Isn't it funny that, now that the parents can know the gender of their baby before birth, we have gender parties? It amazes me how many couples elect to not know the gender through the entire pregnancy. Thanks for hosting. laurie
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this, but it's a very sweet idea; happy Monday :)

Hi Sally, The gender party is fabulous. I loved every detail. This sure is a new take on a baby shower. Or maybe it was just a 'gender' party. I know everyone had a wonderful time and you are right. They didn't miss a trick. I love the baby blocks, the drinks, the Hershey bar, etc. The blue spots in the cake just cracked me up. Congratulations to the happy parents to be. I really loved seeing all of the photos of your beautiful family Sally.
ReplyDeleteLove, Jeanne
PS, Now I want some cotton candy...blue of course. Big smile here.
