Blue Monday - Preserves Around Us

Hello! Welcome to Blue Monday! For complete instructions, just click here.

Please leave a comment for me; I guarantee that I'll visit and leave one for you. Visit other Blue participants by clicking on their links and leaving comments. If it's too much for one day, come back later in the week.

Make someone's day when you wish them a Happy Blue Monday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We live in a housing area surrounded by preserves.In the pictures below, you can see areas of civilization interspersed with areas of preserve. No construction will ever be permitted in the preserve areas. Of course, for Blue Monday, I'm showing Blue sky and Blue water.
The sabal palms outline the borders while the greyish trees show the preserve area.
Cattle graze in an open farm area adjacent to the preserves on the right.
Here you see the entrance to the development, with the preserves close by.
Here you can see two homes built with a preserve in between.
The end of civilization. LOL
We see a good bit of wildlife; you'll have to squint to see it, but there's a hawk perched on the top of this fence.
I must say, I really do not appreciate these scruffy trees covered with Spanish moss!
Stay warm!
Happy Blue Monday!
  2. Your area looks beautiful, Sally. I like when communities preserve land to remain open and wild. We have much the same where we live
  3. Ah, good to see these palms - they're kind of scarce here in Northern CA! Must be assuring that no additional building will be permitted:)
  8. Hello, Sally. It shows great foresight to preserve some open space and beautify it, rather than build everything all cramped together. Beautiful shots. Thanks for hosting.
  11. Enjoyed our little tour of your part of the world. Being from East Texas, around there were lots of moss covered trees.
  27. Hello Sally, I have been gone most of this day. I just arrived home from an auction with my sisters. I didn't buy a thing. Earlier today was at my garden club meeting. I posted late because of so much going on. I'm sorry this comment is so late.
    You live in a beautiful area of Florida. I am glad the builders have to follow conservation laws to keep areas for our wildlife. If you click on your photos they enlarge enough to see the hawk as well as more detail. I too agree the Spanish moss is not attractive when it covers the trees.
    Take care my dear friend,
    Love, Jeanne
    Beautiful weather and wonderful pictures! Nice to know something more in your area. My image is one day late because I have the flu and was sick with a fever yesterday.
    Greetings
  31. Hi Sally, I missed everyone on Monday! But I did post some blues with my Wednesday post today! LOL! I hope you can stop by anyway. I love your photos and you live in a very pretty area. I am not fond of trees period. They cost too much money when you have to remove them. I am not sure what people years ago thought when they planted all these trees in my neighborhood. I guess they never dreamed they would grow so tall! The spruce trees, I think they are, so so messy spilling their cones everywhere and they are not usable ones!
    I hope you have a great week and I enjoyed seeing your photos.
    Hugs, Anne
