It's Blue Monday! To participate:

We snapped these pictures of murals in Tarpon Springs from our car. They're all related to the sea and all have beautiful blue in them. I'm sure you'll notice the blue sky and the many touches of blue in the surrounding buildings. This one has a mermaid.




This one depicts a courtyard with a beautiful fountain.




Here's a village in Greece.




This is a beautiful mural of a sponge boat with a diver painted on its bow.

Pink Saturday - Entrance Flowers

These are some Pretty Pink flowers at the entrance to the place I'm renting.




You can see a nice bench peeking out of the background.


The next two shots are close-ups of the blooms. They need some tending, but with 90º temperatures, I give the groundskeepers a little slack. I sure don't want to neaten them up!

Rooster Party!

Barb of Bella Vista, is having a Show Us Your Roosters Party today. I love parties, so I want to participate.

Now, I heard that ALL bloggers had apothecary jars and cloches, so I bought an apothecary jar and a cloche. Then I heard that all bloggers had white birds from the T-store, so I bought some of those birds. However ... dare I admit it ... I do not have anything with a rooster, chicken, or even an egg on it! So I came up with these. I hope no one notices that I'm a bit (ahem) different.

Buffalos Abound!

Everyone is different so we expect to see different things decorating our homes. But would someone please explain to me why would anyone would decorate with a buffalo?

Yep, this cutie and another just like him were standing guard alongside a stone wall that surrounded someone's rather elaborate home.

We took a day trip to Tarpon Springs and investigated the sponge-diving industry. Here's one of the boats that goes out to gather the sponges. Look at that blue sky and blue water! Notice that blue is on most boats and buildings as this place was settled by Greek immigrants, and you know that the colors of the Greek flag are blue and white. Look at this huge pile of sponges!



Here's an interesting bit of information about sponge industry, or sponge gathering. I know that it's continued on the back, but I only photographed one side. I didn't think anyone would want to read more than that!





This statue of a Greek sponge diver stands outside a restaurant. Notice that in his left hand is a net with sponges inside.




Of course, I had to buy a sponge. I like the way it looks in the bathroom. There are many sizes and prices. This one cost $6.99. I doubt if it was a bargain. It was impulse shopping! Here it is on the edge of my tub.
