"Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these courageous couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" was said about 2500 years ago by the Greek historian, Herodotus. He said this adage during the war between the Greeks and Persians about 500 B.C. in reference to the Persian mounted postal couriers whom he observed and held in high esteem.

Today many people believe this saying to be the U.S. Postal Service (U.S.P.S.) motto. In fact, it is not their official slogan. According to the U.S.P.S. they have no slogan at all!

Johnny and I went to drop off some mail, and I realized that in my never-ending quest to find blue, this institution certainly qualifies.



This is another post office close to our place. Weren't they smart to choose such a beautiful color?




Look at these beautiful blue babies all lined up and standing at attention, just waiting to be fed.



I found a couple of trucks that had finished the work for the day.

Ah, beautiful blue.

The Huffington Post reported:

GARNER, Iowa — An Iowa teen is all bubbly over her one-of-a-kind high school prom dress she made out of gum wrappers. Elizabeth Rasmuson made her dress – and matching vest for her date – out of blue and white wrappers from Wrigley's "5 gum." The high school junior says she got the idea after hearing about someone making a dress out of duct tape.

She and her boyfriend began collecting gum wrappers last August. Rasmuson says she quit counting after 200.

Since the wrappers break easily, Rasmuson finished her dress with a vinyl top coat.

It's baseball season, and I've noticed that many teams are wearing shades of
beautiful blue.

We used to live in South Florida, where the Marlins play. My husband still roots for them. Look at the gorgeous teal blue in their logo.


Now we live in the Tampa area. Sometimes, it's hard for Johnny to get the Marlins on TV, and he settles for watching the Rays. Here is the logo for the Tampa Bay Rays. It contains two delightful shades of blue.

I hope that you had a wonderful Easter celebrating the Risen Lord; I sure did. We had a family dinner after church.

I'm sure you know that Cookie Monster is a fictional Muppet character on the children's television show "Sesame Street." He's a beautiful color... Blue!
