Blue Monday - President's Day!

Hello! It's Blue Monday! For those of us who blue, it's a holiday! It's also President's Day--doubling the celebration!

For instructions, please click here.

Please notice the Blue Monday Code on my sidebar. Feel free to put it directly onto your Blue Monday post.

Visit other Blue participants by clicking on their links and wishing them a Happy Blue Monday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look at this beautiful blue sky over Mount Rushmore, where four Presidents are memorialized. I copied this from the internet, and I seriously doubt that the sky is so intense.
Presidents Day is celebrated on the third Monday in February.
At the beginning, the holiday was implemented to honor George Washington. It was celebrated on February 22, which actually is Washington's birthday. Later on, many states connected it to Lincoln's birthday (February 12) even though Lincoln's birthday was never a federal holiday.
Nowadays President's Day is said to commemorate all US Presidents.
☆ ☆ ☆
I found a blue example of a sign businesses can buy and display. All federal buildings are closed.
However, many sales are going on.
Are you going shopping?
Will you be buying something blue?
Happy Blue Monday!
  11. Sally, I enjoyed your post. My brother, George, named for an uncle, not the President, was also born on February 22, so this is a special date for me. No blue in my post today, only cherries. ;-)
    Hope to see you. ~ Sarah
  28. Morning girl...Happy Blue Monday to you! When Oldest Burly took a rode trip to Montana he stopped in several states along the way and would call me and tell me what he was seeing...he called one morning and said "Mom!!! I am standing in front of the mountain that has the presidents' faces on it!" Of course that didn't excite him as much as the day he called standing on the open range looking at a herd of BUFFALO!!! Ahhhh you gotta love a Burly Man!!! lol lol Have a great day girl! Picket
  37. What a great shot for Presidents' Day! Those are four presidents I don't mind commemorating - not so sure about some of the others! I sort of liked it back when George and Abe had their own individual special days.
    Happy Blue Monday and have a wonderful week.
    ReplyDelete
  38. I kind of liked it better when we celebrated Lincoln's and Washington;s birthdays, but I guess we should honor all the presidents for their service. It's not a job I would want! Although I don't know how having sales does honors them.:-) I'd shop if there was something I needed that was a good price, but I don't know of anything on a special sale today that I want.
