Blue Monday - West Side Story

Johnny and I took Jenna, our eighteen year-old granddaughter, to see West Side Story at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts this past week. We all loved it! Of course, I spotted some Blue!

The dancing was amazing. Look at the vertical jump. Look at the air space! Also, please note the beautiful Blue costumes.




The Jets preform "Cool." There's a blue dress on the left. I love her extension and pointed toe.





Playing the part of Maria, Ali Ewoldt sings, "I Feel Pretty." Note her blue! dress.
Her voice was superb!

    Oh my Gosh Sweet Sally, we had to watch this in grade school back in Cali ... Turns out LOTS of grade school kids still do watch it or read it evenm now...
    And a fun bit of info for you, any time Kent and I travel though a town on one of our business trips and the town West Side is passed through he and I snap our fingers until we've driven all the way thru it.. Which doesn't take long since its a small town...

    loved everything about the movie..
    have seen it numerous times..
    Would you believe I STILL have my original 33rpm LP?

    West Side Story is a long-time favorite of mine. I first saw if when I was in high school, and I loved it so much I purchased the album. My poor mother had to listen to me play it repeatedly.

    One of my favorite musicals to see on stage. All the songs are great. The picture of the girls with the dresses is perfect---how they all syncronized all together is amazing. Love the blue one.

    Hello Sally, I did do a post today and was so busy I forgot to link. This was garden club day and there was no time this am for anything but get ready and go. I actually did this post this past Friday and pre dated it to post last night. Sigh.

    I have seen the movie but the play sounds awesome. If I ever have the opportunity I would surely go. The photos you shared are wonderful. What a wonderful treat for your granddaughter. You are awesome grandparents. I mean it!

    My eyes are improving but still red. It takes a long time to recover completely. I can see and I feel great. Thank you again for your prayers Sally.

    I haven't seen West Side Story and I really should if I had the chance. Your pictures are wonderful...and I see the blues in there for sure. I can't imagine how they jumped up soooo high like that. Live performances are wonderful aren't they. You are so lucky to have been able to see the performance and with your granddaughter too.
