Exciting times were had at my house! This past Thursday was my birthday! That evening, my first-born grandchild, Lauren, and her boyfriend, Christian, made me these gorgeous Blue Cake Pops. What a delightful presentation.

I hope you notice I'm wearing a Blue shirt. So is Lauren.




They baked a cake and then crumbled it up, mixed it with icing, and formed balls to be stuck on the ends of lollipop sticks. They dipped the pops into melted white chocolate, and some were colored a beautiful Turquoise Blue.

Here's a close-up of the yummy confections. They did such an excellent job.



The following day, my daughter, Debi, gave us a terrific party; we had games and prizes!
She made dinner for the whole gang!

We're all wearing a shade of beautiful Blue.

I have a twin, so it was his birthday too. He came with his wife and two sons.
We had a packed house. I loved it!

My daughter-in-law made our favorite birthday cakes.
She made a banana cake for my brother and a coconut cake for me!

Here I am with my twin. He's MUCH older than I. (Ahem.)

What a super day!

Something special is happening right around the corner from our house! A disabled veteran is having a house built for him and his family. There was a dedication ceremony last week, and I captured these pictures. There's a beautiful Blue sky and a bit of Blue in the signs. Of course, our flag contains Blue too.

Johnny and I love to go to lunch here. It's only about ten minutes from our home.

Isn't this a gorgeous place to visit?

Notice the blue sky and the blue windows.




Here's the lobby. It's decorated in soft blues. Those palm trees are real.




There's an atrium right outside the main dining area. Water trickles down that giant rock. It's such a calm place. In addition, there are a few benches close by.




Although there are some items made ahead, we usually order our food cooked to order. Here's the full-time chef on duty.

"Almost ninety percent of the stuff is made from scratch, all fresh ingredients," executive chef Paul Finocchi (pictured below) said. "I care about the product. I won't put anything out here that I'm not willing to eat."

You'd think it'd cost an arm and a leg, but meals here are under $10.00.

Amazing, huh? Get ready for a big surprise . . .

I had a super Mother's day, and I hope that you did too. After church, Johnny and I went over to our son's house. His oldest daughter and her boyfriend fixed us all dinner, and boy, was it good! I spoke on the phone with Debi and Jane and received several neat gifts. I am so blessed.

My son spotted these gorgeous Blue Orchids for sale at the Home Depot. Being the well-trained person that he is, he took this shot for our Blue Monday day.



Notice the price! Normal orchids sell for half as much--around $15.
However, I must say, I think they're worth the money.

This past Friday the world experienced an exciting event.

Kate Middleton and Prince William were married April 29th.

Remember how beautiful she looked in her blue engagement dress? William also chose to wear a blue suit.




Here's a close-up of that gorgeous sapphire blue engagement ring.




Did you see the wedding? I did! Yep, I got up at 4 am.

I noticed plenty of Blue.

Carole Middleton, the mother of the bride, wore Sky Blue.




Camilla, the wife of Prince Charles, father of the groom, wore a soft shade of Blue.




Best man Prince Harry’s girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, wore Aqua Blue.




Victoria Beckham wore a Navy Blue outfit.




Why, even the groom wore a bit of Blue.




Here's my pick for the best use of color: Royal Blue.
