I grew up in the Maryland/D.C. area where it snows. My mother strongly encouraged my brother, sister, and me to go "play" outside in the cold snow. I hated the cold! I was the one pounding on the door, begging to be let inside, while my brother and sister had a blast making snowmen. Now I live in Florida, and the only snow I see is on TV.
I have a collection of snowmen--or snowpeople. My snowmen are faux, and therefore, not at all cold. Of course, there's a bit of our celebrated color Blue on each one that I'm showing today.
I bought the Freeze Family several years ago when my daughter-in-law had a House of Lloyds Christmas Around the World party. It's become one of my favorite Christmas decorations.
Mrs. carries a small tree, Mr. holds a broom, and Jr. is dragging along his sled. Notice, please, the little guy is dressed in Blue.
and the price was right! Note the Blue gift in his arms.
Happy Blue Monday!

Hi Sally, It is early in the morning and I am linking now because I have to take a big turkey to a luncheon today.(my garden club) Bill set my alarm to put my turkey in the oven. However, he set it one hour earlier than it was supposed to go off. Sigh! I put it in anyway and now I am awake.
ReplyDeleteI love your snowmen. They all look cute. You have a fun collection. My sister collects snowmen too. Don't you miss snow just a bit? Smile! I am definitely waiting to be able to relax in the "calm" of winter. Snowed in kind of appeals to me right now. We are always busy.
Thanks for hosting Blue Monday as always.
xo, Jeanne

Hey there, Sally! I guess when you live in FL., you have to create your own kind of snow, huh? So cute!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sally...adorable snowmen! They have a lot of personality and character. Enjoy your week...we are enjoying NOT having any snow...could go an entire winter with weather like this.
ReplyDelete♥, Susan
Hi Sally, What a cute story, no wonder you live in Florida! Love your collection of snowmen. A great way for you to remember your childhood. Thanks for hosting and Happy Blue Monday.

That's such a cute collection, Sally! I'd probably miss snow if I lived where you do—but not the 19 inches at once that we got last year!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of your snowman! Have a nice blue Monday!

ReplyDeleteHi Sally..
ReplyDeletejust AWESOME !
love those snowmen/people!!
glad you are not contending with the snowy cold temps like me..

ReplyDeleteA wonderful collection of snow friends, Sally
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you... still keep you in my prayers.
Fall is still hanging around my house waiting to be put away in its boxes. Then Christmas will take center stage... although I am listening to Christmas music now. A most wonderful Season of music.
Blessings... Karen
I love your snowpeople, even though I really, really don't like snow. It's lovely in old movies and on Christmas cards, but not something I want to experience first-hand. I would love to be able to say "the only snow I see is on TV"!
ReplyDeleteI adore snowmen!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks -- I never tire of admiring them, they are just such charming ambassadors for winter good will.
Cass
Hi Sally! I remember these little dudes and they're so cute!
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well and how nice to hear from you!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
They are all so cute, love your snowmen!
ReplyDeleteSally, you picked the right guy for this time of the year. I love snowmen, but my sister is addicted to them. She has soooo many and leaves them out all year. Yours knew what your favorite color was as well.
ReplyDeleteYour snowmen are beautiful, Sally. My most favorite Christmas accessories aside from Jesus and the Nativity are snowmen. They are just so delightful to look at....Christine
ReplyDeleteLove your snowmen..i have quite a few of them..
ReplyDeleteI adore your snow people! Happy Blue Monday Sally... hope you are doing well.

ReplyDeleteAwwww, how sweet. I have a soft spot for those cute little cold hearted fellas. I collect 'em ya know.
ReplyDeleteFunny, 'cause I'm not a lover of snow of which we have right now. UCK!
God bless and have a great day sweetie!!! :o)
Hi Sally, It's great to hear from you.. Glad you are doing so much better. I too was in the hospital twice in October (total of 10 days)... Had a GI bleed and hernia surgery --with complications... I was quite sick --but nothing like you went through... I'm doing very good now other than a lack of energy. Merry Christmas to you all.
ReplyDeleteLove your Snow people. As you can tell from my blog, I love all of the different 'babies' at this time of year....
Hugs,
Betsy
I love all your blue Christmas decorations. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI think it was the link on my comment that took me to your July page. Strange...anyway, when I typed in your address, all is well.
