Blue Monday - Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello! Welcome to Blue Monday! For complete instructions, just click here.

Please leave a comment for me; I guarantee that I'll visit and leave one for you. Visit other Blue participants by clicking on their links and leaving comments. If it's too much for one day, come back later in the week.

Make someone's day when you wish them a Happy Blue Monday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This coming Thursday we celebrate Thanksgiving. I've had these pilgrim figurines for several years, and I love to have them on display at this time of year. I love the details along with their soft Blue color.
I'm showing them from two angles: last year and this year. They're on the same glass table--by the front door--but on different sides.
Last year, we drove up to Gainesville to be with our daughter and her family for the holiday. This year, we're planning on spending the day with our son and his family. They live close by. What are your plans?
Happy Blue Monday!
  5. Wonderful characters! They fit nicely with the Feast "Thanks giving" They symbolize the gifts of the harvest.
    At the ceremony, which is mostly regionally organized in a church, but also as a procession, crops, grains and fruits are placed decorative. There are also other designated products as gifts of special closeness to nature, such as flour, honey or wine.
    In some places there is a braided from cereals or vines "harvest crown" in the church or carried in a procession through the municipality. In rural folk religious communities come together to worship many parishioners. With Thanksgiving should be remembered with gratitude the yield in agriculture and gardens - and also that it is not solely in the hands of the people to have enough food. The harvest offerings are sometimes distributed after the party to the needy in the community, in homeless shelters or to charities.
    We celebrate Thanksgiving on the first Sunday in October.
    Greetings
    Anne
  9. Lovely Pilgrim figurines. Thanksgiving is not celebrated where I am but since I like it I observe it by myself and that makes me happy. This year I'm planning to cook something yummy (nothing definite yet but I'll get to it on Thursday) and buy myself some books to celebrate. Happy Monday, Sally.
  18. Hi Sally and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I hope each and every Blue Crew that celebrates this day will enjoy and have many blessings too. Like Gerald, I could not get the link up. Finally it went thru this morning. Whew! We are having a huge feast but Jeremy works until 5:30 in the evening so we will eat at 6! Noelle and I split the big duties and all the kids pitch in and bring or make sides, It is always a beautiful day and Nick will be home tomorrow. Pray for good weather to travel in for him and all travelers this weekend. Hugs, Anne
  20. Thanks for adding Hyde DP Xtra and Stockport Daily Photo - Have just tried adding Hyde Daily Photo and got an "Internal error" message. Tried the option to load the image from my computer and it found the image but failed to load it. Never mind - these things happen - found a few new blues while out photographing this morning so will have something next week probably.
  33. Hi Sally, We had to go to town early this morning and just came home. Hence the late entry. I have shared this before and I posted it on Sat. My plan it to leave it up all week. We will have a crowd for Thanksgiving starting tomorrow and I am crazy busy. I am also wrapping Christmas gifts for three of our children's families so I won't have to mail them. Yikes! The pressure is on.
    I love these figurines so much. I remember them. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving day with your family dear.
    Love, Jeanne
