My daughter lives two hours north in Gainesville. This is a picture of her front porch with her firstborn, Caeli, holding my daughter's dachshund. Caeli is wearing Blue shorts. Her friend, Brittany, is wearing a Blue shirt and a Blue, print skirt. Brittany is visiting from out of town, and my daughter just had the young ladies over for lunch. Behind them are Blue plumbago plants.
Caeli also lives in Gainesville. She's earned her master's from U of F and works full time as a landscape architect with a local firm.
Here's a close-up of my daughter's Blue plumbago plants in bloom.
Knowing how much I drool over Texas Bluebonnets, La Voice sent me some seeds. Because I live in zone 9, it doesn't get cold enough to grow these wildflowers; however, Gainesville, where my daughter and granddaughter live is zone 8. Texas Bluebonnets need zone 4 - 8, so I'm passing the seeds to Caeli to plant for me. She's looking forward to the adventure!
I'm putting a picture here of the beautiful Texas Bluebonnets that I got from the internet.

ReplyDeleteBusy day today. Bill is being transferred to rehab which is not far from home. He must be stronger before I can take care of him. It is a good move. He isn't mobile enough to get in and out of a car.
Love,
Jeanne

This must be bluebonnet day -- I've got them in my post, too. They can be really hard to grow from seeds, but they're definitely worth the effort.

Hi Sally!
ReplyDeleteIn German they are sometimes called plumbago "sky flowers". Beautifully they are!
And the Bluebonnet I also like very much.
