Blue Monday - Amazing Blue Art - Chicken Wire Sculptures

Welcome everyone! It's Blue Monday!

For complete instructions, just click here.

Be sure to visit other Blue participants by clicking on their links and wishing them a Happy Blue Monday! Please remember that I ❤ comments too!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today, I'm showing you some art by Ivan Lovatt. It's all done with Chicken Wire! I've chosen only the Blue ones as today is Blue Monday!
Most of Lovatt's wire portraits take over a month to complete and are about one and a half times larger than life size. Somehow, he manages to twist, bend and pin the wire in such a way that his portraits end up so detailed you can actually see every hair on their head. His works have been displayed in galleries and museums all around the world. Click on this link if you wish to see more of his work.
The Beatles
Depicted during their Sgt. Pepper era, the Fab Four is on display in their uniforms. I love the epaulettes!
Wings of wire
Here, Lovatt presents, “The Eagle.”
Sir Edmund Hillary
What better way to honor the fabled New Zealand mountaineer, explorer, and environmental champion than to recreate his likeness in wire fencing?
Koala
I saved the cutest for last. Here's a koala in Blue chicken wire. Aw . . .
Happy Blue Monday!
Hi Sally, I should be in bed huh? Bill is watching a recorded show and I am catching up with my commenting. My cousin Bob is here and my time is not my own.
The chicken wire art is amazing. I can't believe the detail Ivan Lovatt can capture with wire. Each piece is so perfect. A great talent for sure. A great share for Blue Monday.
I hope you are still feeling better as the days go by.
Hugs, Jeanne
Happy Blue Monday, Sally!
Hope you have a great day. Just picked up my son at school - his first day at Prep (the school year before Year 1) and the rain was pouring down - bucket loads!!
Greetings from Australia♥
The koala is the cutest. It's so realistic and the wire pattern realistically recreates the coarse fur. Thanks, as always, for being a wonderful hostess.
Wow. It's amazing that people would think to use chicken wire that way, and that it can be made to look so realistic!
Becky K. said...
Ouch! Having worked with chicken wire I cannot imagine how he can work without it drawing blood. He must be all gloved up and then how do you get such fine detail.
Very impressive!!
Thanks for hosting us Sally.
It is great to be back.
This is so different and beautiful. I loved the eagle and the koala. I can imagine that chicken wire would be difficult to work with and also the artist might end up with a lot of scratches.
I had to enter 4 times before it would recognize me. where there are three Iris's grouped together it didn't work. The last one #57 finally worked. Sorry about that.
Hugs
Iris
Sally, I was so puzzled. I had four comments that needed to be moderated. I went to check them and they all came from your party. I realized when I was linking up my link went to an old post and not the one I intended to post. Thanks for visiting but I am embarrassed for my boo boo!
I will just save it for next week.
Blessings, Ginger
