Jeanne from Backyard Neighbor and her husband, Bill, came to our house to visit this past Friday! What a pleasure they are! Johnny and I hated to see them leave, but we made them promise to come again.
I never thought when I first began to blog, that I'd meet new friends--especially face-to-face friends. Jeanne and I "met" in 2008. We have so much in common; we just clicked. Jeanne and Bill have children and grandchildren who live a few hours away from us, and they travel to Florida to visit. For years, I've wished that we could arrange a meeting, but Florida is a big state and we lived down at the tip. Three years ago, we moved from South Florida to the Tampa area, putting us a couple of hours away from Jeanne's family. This year, they made time for us!
I am honored! Pretty Jeanne is on the left. Look at that dimple! She's just as nice as I expected. I am the one with the Blue shirt. (Well, you expected that, didn't you?) See the Blue gift bag? They even brought a gift for me--as if their presence wasn't enough of a gift!
Inside the Blue gift bag, was Blue tissue paper, a Blue card and this wonderful Lenox china. What a generous gift! I adore Lenox, and these Winter Greetings dipping dishes will be used often and appreciated much. I'll think of Jeanne and Bill each time I use them.
Here's a close-up of the Blue card that was inside the package. It's a picture of two Blue cups, along with a spoon.
It reads:
Hi Sally,
This note card is a reminder of how great it would be if we could visit over a cuppa often.
Love,
Jeanne and Bill

Hi Sally, It feels so good to be home watching the Gators on TV. Two of our grands are using our tickets today. This game was not televised but Bill paid $26. to get it today. I hope it is worth the money!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on the cranes I posted. I have seen many more than this in our old neighborhood when we lived in Kissimmee. We had a flock that had a dozen or more that were in our cul-de-sac most every day. I think we were in a 'run' between lakes. they were wonderful to watch.
Enjoy your weekend.
Love, Jeanne
