Blue Monday - Knight and Day Review

Blue, is everywhere, so of course, there's some in most any movie. This past Saturday, Johnny and I went to see the newly released film Knight and Day, an action-comedy. We give it a thumbs up, with a caution that you MUST be willing to suspend your disbelief in order to enjoy it. I mean, no one could live through all THAT!

However, today is all about Blue, so please notice that both Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are dressed in Denim Blue with touches of white, for these scenes on the motorcycle. These first two shots were taken during the running of the bulls in Cadiz, Spain.










Johnny likes action films much more than I do. I liked it, but I thought of it as a comic book come-to-life. That helped me to enjoy it more.

Blue Monday - Comments, Please!

Recently, I've had several frustrated bloggers asking me for tips on how to get more comments. Comments represent blogger love, and sometimes bloggers feel (sigh) yes, blue by the absence of comments.




Now, we can't have this kind of blue, so I thought it might be a good time for a post on comments. I tried to create it with as much beautiful blue as possible.





1. Comments = comments.
My first suggestion is to visit others. I visit every Blue Monday link every single Blue Monday. In addition, I visit as many on my blogroll as time permits. Whenever any person leaves me a comment, I visit their blog and leave a comment. (Most Bloggers will return a comment; it's simply good blogging manners.)



2. Keep it short.
Short posts are most often read. People have busy lives; wordy posts are often ignored. I've actually read, on more than one occasion, "I don't know what to say... "



3. A picture is worth a thousand words.
Use pictures; folks would rather look at them than read words, words, and more words. Paragraphs turn most folks off!






4. Keep it simple.
Restrict each post to one theme. Rambling is for roses!



5. Try, try again.
Don't give up. I've been blogging--and commenting--for over two years.



6. Post daily.
For over a year and a half, I posted every single day. Whew! It's a BUNCH of work, but I got to know a group of great Bloggers, who I now call my friends.




If you have additional tips, please include them.
I hope this helps a bit and makes for happier bloggers!

We had a birthday recently, and I found a bit of blue.

It's a four-layered, caramel nut cake from Publix, and it was as good as it looks!

My Holiday Room

The Tablescaper is hosting a meme about storage called, “Where do you keep it all?” I don't have the beautiful sets of china that many bloggers have, but I do have a good supply of holiday decorations.

I used to store those items in our attic, but it became a big deal to lug them up and down. Later on, we stored them in the guest room closets.

When we moved into our new home this past December, for the first time, we had the luxury of too much space! I decided to use one of the extra bedrooms to store all of our holiday decorations. I've named this room The Holiday Room.

Johnny and I went to Ikea and bought these three storage units. They measure 7'9"H x 9'8"W. Some folks use them as closets. The insides can be configured any way a person might choose. We purchased them in January, which was a perfect time because Ikea was offering FREE installation with the purchase! (That saved quite a BIG headache!)

The color of the storage units is a dark gray.



You can see St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Autumn, Thanksgiving, and Christmas decorations at a glance in this last unit.





After next Christmas, I plan to put away many of our items unpackaged. I prefer having items on view on the shelves rather than in the plastic bins.

The first unit contains our Christmas tree, so we did not put so many shelves in it. Look, there's even some room for other items! Our Holiday Room makes storage so much easier.
