Several Bloggers have wondered about what’s been happening since June 9th. Here's a list of my experiences:
Surgeries
Diagnosis: renal cell carcinoma
Kidney surgery – NOT cancer
Walk (with a walker) down a short hallway
Fell in the bathroom – badly bruised my lower left jaw
Right side of stomach swelled by at least 3 inches
White count rose dramatically to 30,000 – indicating infection
CAT scan showed burst duodenum
Emergency surgery on burst duodenum (small intestine)
Intubation – tube removed too soon - reinserted
Double pneumonia
Drain inserted stomach's right side to drain & suction out infected abscess
Feeding tube inserted
7 units of blood transfused
25 days in ICU – 19 of them unresponsive
Recovery
Infectious material drain removed
Moved to progress care – 10 days
Moved to Connerton Acute Long Term Care Hospital - although NOT a rehab center, they do offer some rehab
Working hard to recover and get home
Please continue to pray that I'll recover enough to get home! I'm fully confident that I'm in God's hands, and He is in control.

Lovely picture. We are all thinking of you Sally. Keep getting better Intestinal infections are hard to recover from. It took me a year. Infection started last May. In hospital for 2.5 weeks. 6 catscans, major infection, burst intestine from an abscess + diverticulitis. Doctors, punctured intestine under catscan to put in drain (I was awake). Months of antibiotics. Felt like I was dying last year. Had numerous infections in my uterus until I demanded a special test. Found intestinal bacteria at my cervix (how did that get there). Ended up with a fistula between intestine and uterus. Passing stool through my vagina (God, help me!). Catscan showed fistula. Surgery in December to remove part of intestine and repair HOLE in my uterus (no wonder I felt like I was dying last year). Infection after surgery that sent me right back to hospital. No more infection but intestine will never be the same. Now I have what they believe to be a hernia. Ugh!
After all that, what I really wanted to say is, life is full of changes. All we can do is breath, pray and keeping moving. I think of you all the time. Take care of yourself and don't rush anything. God bless.
That photo is breathtaiking.
My heart just hurts for all you have been through. You are on my prayer list...big time. I know you can feel the love you have from everyone in blogland and how much we think about you and pray for you and your family.

Bless your heart! What a hard road you have walked this summer.
Your family must be thrilled to see your recovery coming along. I'll pray with you that you strengthen and regain your ability to live in your sweet home with that handsome hubby of yours.
I have experienced the pain of a post op abscess. It nearly killed me about four years ago after a hysterectomy. My road back was long! But I am so thankful to say that for the most part I am doing well. Praying you can say the same before you know it.
Hi Sally, I am thankful that you are fine after what you have experienced. I continue to pray for your speedy recovery, God is good!! Happy weekend and take care!

Good lord, girl! Talk about doing it the hard way. I too was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma and had to have my right kidney removed. I had two cancerous tumors, both of which were removed during surgery. I recovered quickly and have only a gigantic scar three months later. Sorry your experience was so horrible and hope you are back to your old self soon.
Sally I am continuing to pray for you that you'll have a full recovery. You have been through so much, and have come so far, and next step will be hoing home!
The Blue Ridge Mountians are so lovely!

At least you are getting some answers. I know you'll keep smiling through it all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dear Sally! What a trauma your life has been these past weeks! May you know the Lord's continued faithfulness in all things as you recover and glorify Him. So glad you are back with us and sharing beautiful blues on Monday. I've been busy but am hoping to get back on track now as we move into the routine of a new school year. Hope you enjoy meeting my new grandbaby - and reading their "Making of a Miracle" story linked to it - I know you'll be blessed!
Joy!
Miss Kathy

I knew you were having a bad time of it, but never realized just what a horrible time you were going through. No doubt, you reached way down and found more strength than you thought you had to endure all this nightmare. Pray you will soon be strong enough to at least go home. That would help you feel some better. So sorry you are having to deal with so much at one time. Hang in as it will get better..
Hi Sal!
