August, 2013, I had cataract surgery on both of my eyes. First, the right eye was done and a week or so later, the left eye was done. I had needed these surgeries for years, but I was so concerned about the outcome that I put it off. (One eye surgeon had told me that I'd need reading glasses afterward. I've never used glasses, and I didn't want to start!) So, I waited.
My eyes got worse and by August, 2013, I was legally blind! Yes, I really am THAT vain. Fortunately, St. Luke's is located close by. I heard good things about it and took a deep breath. I had wonderful results! No pain. My left eye was done so that I use it for distance and my right eye was done so that I can easily read even small print. No glasses needed!
I went back for a routine check-up this past Tuesday. Everything's just fine! Today's Blues are the sky, the name on the building's exterior, and the huge changing electronic sign.

I had this surgery a year ago and have regretted it every since. Going to try and find someone different to check my eyes. Take care and have a good week.
I will be getting double eye surgery in both eyes in December, Sally, for both cataracts and glaucoma. I am hopeful I will have good results. My surgery will be more complicated. I've worn glasses all my life, so I will probably still need them post op.
Hi Sally, I am tired from a long day working on our garage. I had to delete and redo my comment here. My hubby had one eye done a few years ago and needs the other one too. My fear is the detached retina like my maternal grandmother had. I have such poor eyesight it is always a great concern. I just pray. Have a good week and always my pleasure to stop by here. Both my parents have had this surgery, Sally, and fortunately all went well for both of them. They do not need glasses either.

I don't have any blues for you today but when I saw the subject of your post, I had to stop by. I had cataracts removed eight years ago and it is like a miracle for me! I have always worn glasses and then later, contact lenses. My eye sight has always been very poor and when they discovered I had cataracts, I wasn't happy. But now I see them as a blessing because after surgery, I have intra occular lenses now, I can see without glasses or contacts for the first time in my life. I do use readers but that is OK considering what my vision was like before. I'm glad your experience has made a difference for you too. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.

So glad it's all worked out in the end. I've worn glasses for almost 65 years now (i.e., most of my life), never had contacts, and it never kept the cute boys away!

Really happy for you Sally! I have been having problems with my eyes ever since my Crohn's was diagnosed 20yrs ago. It's incredibly frustrating! I know that I will need cataract surgery at some point as I have one forming due to the steroid eye-drops that I have to use. What will be, will be, as they say!
