Grab your camera, take a picture of your front door and join here for this meme!
You can see a touch of Florida blue sky above the roof and my pretty dessert rose bush to the left.
We had our home built thirteen years ago, and the builder had a narrow window alongside the front door. I did not like the idea of people being able to look inside my home. Others who had this same window chose to to cover it with a window treatment or have it heavily etched for privacy. Since Johnny used to be a block mason, I had him rip out the nasty window and replace it with glass blocks. The light can come in, and we still have our privacy.
Our welcome mat says, "Live, Love, Laugh."
I am having the office painted today and will not be able to use my computer to visit you until tomorrow, but I PROMISE that I will visit and leave a comment on every single blogger's post who leaves a comment here.
PS The office is painted. I'm smelling fumes as I type!

Morning Sally,
It looks sooooo welcoming and inviting coming up to your home. LOVE it! I also love those glass blocks for privacy. Have a great day today!♥
I also like those glass blocks - what a great idea! What color are you doing the office?
I love your walkway. The whole entryway is so inviting. Thanks for welcoming us.
Very pretty entrance Sally. You can just tell it's warm there. ;)
Hi Sally...your home is gorgeous! That was a great idea to use the glass blocks...I've always liked the look of those. ;-) Bo
your front door... a welcome greeting...
now.. which shade of blue will your office be?
blessings. Dixie
Your front door creates a very inviting feeling.
I feel so sorry for the poor chicken. I'm glad my momma taught me not to put my eggs all in one basket, I could be hurting like that chicken right now.
Your walkway entrance to your door is very welcomig. Thank you for linking to my blog. I'm enjoying everyones posts.
Have a wonderful day!
Darlene
Sally,I can't imagine not blog hopping and seeing your friendly smiling self everywhere today! So...lol...I guess I will just come on over and try peeking in the glass block to see the progress on your office painting! Love the entryway...so welcoming!
How lovely. I really love the mat matching the flowers, and the entranceway is totally charming.

What a great idea with the glass blocks! And how wonderful for you that you have someone who can do that! Thanks for sharing.
beautiful! And so nice that you have a husband who can do that!!!
What color are you painting the office?
cartoon was great!
Oh I agree...those side windows allow too much access. The bottle glass is very nice...great idea!
Lovely idea for the side window. My front doors are too boring to post. We don't even use them. We come and go through the laundry room because that is where our car is parked. Outside I mean. Not in the laundry room!
Very nice door Sally! I didn't realize it was about our front doors. I'll add mine to my post.
I love your house, Sally! And I think you were wise to build it the way you did. Good job!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Great idea for light with privacy.
Love today's cartoon. Too bad it hits home for so many people lately.
Really nice front door and so neat and clean and tidy. Have a fun day of painting.
Happy Tuesday

We have those long windows on both sides of our front door, the girls and I hate them. Love the glass blocks!
Gorgeous front door and entry way!
Looks great, Sally! I think that that shrubs really help to accentuate the path to your door...sort of like, "follow me, we'll show you the way!"
Blessings to you from Kansas,
Valerie
Lovely entrance Sally and I love the mat at your front door it says it all!!
I did that with the blocks too, it does give you privacy.
Love the blue sky.....I can't wait for it to come my way!!!

Hi Sally,
So your the Blue Monday lady, I wondered about that! Great door, I like the glass block solution. Plus it looks nice with the style of your home. Also I have a friend who just published a book so will tell her about your reviews. Have a nice sunny day, from snowy and cloudy...~Cathy~
GM Sally girl I tried looking through the blocks to find you and I can't see a thing ha ha!! have a great day painting...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Hi Sally... I love your home and entrance way.. It is very inviting--as others have said. Love the doormat and flowers by the door.
We too have those 'non-privacy' windows beside our door. I haven't done anything about them --but would like to!!!!
Love your brick walk-way.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hope you like your 'new' office--once it is finished!!!!
The glass blocks are a wonderful idea -- still the look of a window, still letting in light, but offering privacy.
Sally
See you tomorrow...you'll be operating out of a fresh office..thats nice.
I love this front pic of your home...

Sally! Love the look of your home, and that little planter by the door is perfect! I'm just wishing I was in FL now instead of NY! There's SNOW HERE! :(
Great door. Great entry way. I like your door mat too. IF I can get all my tasks taken care of early enough today, I may post a picture of our front door.
Hi Sally! What a pretty entry you have! And to be married to a guy would could put in the glass block. I've always loved glass block! Now you make sure and post a picture of your office!

Shelia ;)

Oh how I would love to be in Florida right now and not in 30 degrees and wind! You have a beautiful front!
Sally, you do not have to comment on my page. I dont have a door pic up and you have commented to other things for me this week. I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you that I really like your entry way to the home. The deep red against the green looks fantastic and I always enjoy those old modern vintage glass blocks. Beautiful!
Your front door looks very wecoming. I didn't do the meme, just stopping by to say hi. I love the cobblestone look of the walkway. very nice.
Sally your front door is gorgeous!
Love your home! :)
I love the bubble glass, too. It's nice to have light in the entryway.
What a pretty home you have! Love that touch of red in your mat & flowers!
Dear Sally, You have a lovely entrance to your home. I like the idea of the blocks because like you say you get the light but still retain privacy. Do we get a peek at your painted office? I hope you are having a nice evening.
I'm so glad I found your blog. I also love everything by Liz Curtis Higgs. I had the pleasure of hearing her speak at our church. She is delightful. I got a chuckle out of the chicken cartoon! Blessings!
Beautiful entrance and very welcoming. I can imagine if you didn't have those glass blocks your entrance would be very dark. Nice solution!!!
What a neat idea to have a tour of front doors. I love yours--great idea to do the glass blocks! Hope the paint fumes are gone and you're enjoying a freshly painted office.

Hi Sally. I'm glad you left me a message that you participated in this. I am still very busy with my mother, and I haven't been able to get out to visit anyone.
Your door looks great, and I love the idea of the glass blocks. Your door reminds me of home.
Those glass blocks are a great idea! Love that they still let the light in without letting snopping people look in! laurie
