My Front Door

Darlene from Jade Creative and Kari and Kijsa from Kari and Kijsa got together to host a party called "Doors to Adore." They asked all of Blogland to show off the first impression to our homes--our front doors.

Grab your camera, take a picture of your front door and join here for this meme!

You can see a touch of Florida blue sky above the roof and my pretty dessert rose bush to the left.

We had our home built thirteen years ago, and the builder had a narrow window alongside the front door. I did not like the idea of people being able to look inside my home. Others who had this same window chose to to cover it with a window treatment or have it heavily etched for privacy. Since Johnny used to be a block mason, I had him rip out the nasty window and replace it with glass blocks. The light can come in, and we still have our privacy.

Our welcome mat says, "Live, Love, Laugh."

I am having the office painted today and will not be able to use my computer to visit you until tomorrow, but I PROMISE that I will visit and leave a comment on every single blogger's post who leaves a comment here.

PS The office is painted. I'm smelling fumes as I type!

Your front door creates a very inviting feeling.
I feel so sorry for the poor chicken. I'm glad my momma taught me not to put my eggs all in one basket, I could be hurting like that chicken right now.

What color are you painting the office?

cartoon was great!

Oh I agree...those side windows allow too much access. The bottle glass is very nice...great idea!

Lovely idea for the side window. My front doors are too boring to post. We don't even use them. We come and go through the laundry room because that is where our car is parked. Outside I mean. Not in the laundry room!

Very nice door Sally! I didn't realize it was about our front doors. I'll add mine to my post.

Looks great, Sally! I think that that shrubs really help to accentuate the path to your door...sort of like, "follow me, we'll show you the way!"

Hi Sally... I love your home and entrance way.. It is very inviting--as others have said. Love the doormat and flowers by the door.

We too have those 'non-privacy' windows beside our door. I haven't done anything about them --but would like to!!!!

Love your brick walk-way.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hope you like your 'new' office--once it is finished!!!!

The glass blocks are a wonderful idea -- still the look of a window, still letting in light, but offering privacy.

Sally, you do not have to comment on my page. I dont have a door pic up and you have commented to other things for me this week. I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you that I really like your entry way to the home. The deep red against the green looks fantastic and I always enjoy those old modern vintage glass blocks. Beautiful!
