My friend, Diane at A Picture is Worth A Thousand... hosts Trash to Treasure. She finds what someone thinks is not worth much and tweaks it a bit to create a thing of value for her home. Today is my first day to participate, and I'm so excited about it! If you'd like to join in the fun, click on the link.
I collect nativity sets; this is one my daughter-in-law had but no longer wanted. She was actually going to toss it out. I think you'd call the style country or primitive. Joseph's headgear makes him look a little bald. I happily brought it home and tried to fix his headgear, but you see I'm not very good at stuff like this! Anyway, I like this nativity set. It sits on my kitchen counter. I think that my daughter-in-law's trash is now my treasure.
I also collect corn husk dolls, and this is a corn husk nativity scene. It's my oldest nativity scene.
This is my very favorite nativity scene. It's another selection from House of Lloyds, purchased from my daughter-in-law's Christmas Around the World parties. It took several years to collect the entire set. Notice that everything is white except for the skin tones, which are varied.
Please note that the three wise men are a bit away from the manager as they did not arrive to see the Christ child until he was around two years of age. (My pastor will be so proud of me for including this tidbit!)
I will share some more nativity sets from my collection on Blue Monday.
Give yourself a Christmas gift. Check out the GIVEAWAYS on my sidebar!

Your Pastor will be proud. I KNOW I have learned that little fact, but I forget it and have to be reminded! Does that make any sense at all? I just don't think I retain Biblical info like I should.
Thanks for sharing your Nativity scenes. I love the House of Lloyds one.

Your collections are so pretty and I love the corn husks ones, I used to buy so many dolls, I just couldn't resist them. My DH has a beautiful nativity set he bought when he was in Italy, it's in the attic, makes me want to get it down and find a spot for it. :)
Hugs,
Chris

I enjoyed seeing your nativities! I like the one that your daughter in law let you have!
I had to smile at the comment you made about the wise men-preachers want to make sure we understand this, but I just can't leave the wise men out!
