Stuffed Christmas Tree

Since Patty at Pip Stitch commanded me (yes she DID! If you doubt it, see here) to join Finished for Friday hosted by Lit and Laundry [this] week," I'm signing up! Hey, I listen when I'm commanded. While I'm at it, I'm also linking to The Inspired Room for the Holiday festivities. Come join in!

I made this stuffed Christmas tree many years ago, entered it in the Broward County Fair, and won a blue ribbon (my favorite color!). I gave it to my mother because she was so proud of her non-crafting daughter winning a blue ribbon. She used it, and returned it to me just before she broke up housekeeping. Originally, I had little red ornaments and red ribbons on it, but some of them broke over the years. I went to Michael's and found these tiny colored lights and attached them. Once again, it's finished!

Don't look our my kitchen window! Oops, I warned you. Now, you'll be jealous of my Florida weather. Remember, when Jesus was born, there was no snow there, either. (Ho, ho, ho!)

Hey a blue ribbon, Girl you're good. I could never do that. I did buy one from a co worker, it was pretty. I gave it to my daughter last year. :)

Hugs,
Chris

Those little Christmas bulbs are perfect for your little tree. It always feels good to finish up something, doesn't it? Sally

That is so cute! I tried making a stuffed Christmas wreath many years ago, and ended up with something that looked like a string of red and green Jimmy Dean sausages. Your tree definitely deserves the blue ribbon it won.

I would imagine that it could win another blue ribbon now that it is redecorated with such cute lights.

How cute! And I loved reading the history of the tree.

I even forgive you for having beautiful Florida weather in December when I'm living with cold rain and snow in Ohio. ;-)

P.S. Your "Would it kill ya to comment" button in the sidebar made me laugh out loud! Love it!

Hi, Sally! Just wanted to pop in and see what you had doing today, and you have the cutest little tree there! Oh, how I wish I could sew! I need some table cloths hemed (I cut one in half for two card table toppers). May I come to your house, pretty please ??? ;-)

XO,

Sheila :-)

I love your cute little crafty Christmas Tree. Congratulations on your blue ribbon.
I am jealous of your warm weather. I do NOT like to be cold and we don't have snow yet. (I think if you have to put up with the cold that you should get the beauty of snow in return, but apparently Mother Nature doesn't agree with me this year.)
*hugs*

Thankfully, I'm in FL, too! Although your grass still looks nice & green. We're headin' further down south (chasing the heat) for a couple days end of the month, maybe you're down that way?

I love your tree!

Visiting via The Inspired Room, and wishing you a Merry Christmas,

Nat

That tree is so cute! I love the view out your window. Maybe some day we will move there to be closer to our son and his family. They live in the Fort Myers area. I guess that is not far from you. Or if we can afford it spend most of the winter there and come back to California during the summer. Who knows, I am only dreaming now. Can't do that no way anyhow at the moment anyway.

Hi Sally, I took a brief break for study purposes, but I took the afternoon off today, I have never seen a stuffed Christmas tree, and I began to wonder what you were speaking about when you mentioned it!

It's quite cute!

Hello Sally; What a very cute stuffed tree. How great you won a blue ribbon, such a great feeling when someone thinks you crafting is worth a blue ribbon.

Have a great weekend

You're always telling me you're not crafty and now you produce evidence to refute your statement!! I've seen similar trees before, but I like the fabric you used best. And the light ornaments are a great touch!
