I went bargain hunting at the local GW store. I will not go back there again because frankly, the store had a bad odor. However, I found this delightful blue "wooden" shoe. It's ceramic, so although it was quite dirty, it holds no odor.
The true color is the last picture. It closely corresponds with the blue and white vase.
I cleaned it up, and now will find a faux piece of greenery to complete the look.

Very pretty.... if you ever tire of it, just let me know! :)
Morning sweet Sally..how's the unpacking going? That little shoe is so neat and girl....lol lol...I thought I was the only one that that would not go back to the local GW! lol I swear...I tried to go there twice just to give it the benefit of the doubt but ohhhhhh the smell in that place...I felt like bugs was all over me!!! ohhhhhhh! Ours is just not a good one! lol Your little shoe will be gorgeous with a little greenery in it...take care girl and have a great 4th!
How unique! A definite keeper! Enjoy your Tuesday, Sally!
It's so pretty!
Our GW is sort of like that. The GW in Clearwater are great - one is almost like a department store.
I hope you're settling in at the new place. :)
Looks like it's a blue Tuesday, too! I've always loved "Dutch" shoes, and this is a really cute one. It'll look great with some green leaves spilling out. It's a shame about the smelliness at the GW store, but at least you were able to rescue a very nice item.
Sally, Now that is a cute little ceramic shoe to coordinate with your vase! Gee, what is it about goodwill stores? They DO smell funny- everyone I've been in... maybe it's the clothes.
:-)Sue
that is very cute!! and can be used on blue Monday...bonus!!!
btw, my family has really enjoyed the bill myers books I won on your blog!!
Great find! That shade of blue is classic and so pretty.
Sally, that is cute! What about some faux tulips for that shoe? They might be too big for it, but I was just kind of thinking thematically. Greenery would likely look better, though. Very cute. :-)
XO,
Sheila
Very nice find!
hahhhaaa..oh, Sally..I laughed when I read about the smell. Some of the thrift stores here are like that..too many old clothes that haven't been cleaned, I guess. We have 2 REALLY nice GW stores, tho. They are clean, have clean clothes and etc. so it smells ok. I usually just sashay right by the clothing and on to TREASURES awaiting me in the dish area !! :)
(is sashay even a word??)
Cute shoe, Sally!
Good morning Sally, I love the little shoe. I have found a couple of stores like that, I do a lot of Junkin and travel over a 100 mile area somedays I am so glad that our local GW is clean and neat. I went in one in a little town up the road from here that I won't go back too. It was in an old junk yard and nasty wasn't the word. Yuck.
Hope the move is going smooth.
Molly
Well..I had to go look it up: lol

To BJ, I love the word sashay! I haven't used it in a long time but I think you have just made it my new favorite word!
Sally, I think that you, Picket and I have hyper sensitive smellers because I feel the same way about any store that sells used things. My sister used to be obsessed with consignment stores and I called them the "smelly" stores.
It's so sweet! Great find.
Your shoe is a great find and a wonderful blue. Hsve a great 4th!
Hi Sally,
Love your little Dutch shoe! Goes well with that plate!
I like the blue. I have a pair of real ones ,a customer brought me from Holland. She has passed away so they are special to me. Kathy
Cute shoe! Don't you hate that odor at some Goodwills? I don't go back to those, either. Sally
That's really cute.
Hello Sally..its cute and unique..beautiful blue :-)
Lots of luv,
Ita

Very pretty, Sally, and it does match your vase. I agree about stores that have a bad smell... I just won't go back in them either!!!!

Candy
It's really cute!!
What a cute blue shoe! Too bad the store stinks....lol
Goodwill always seems to have that musty odor - but I've gotten some good finds there. My most recent, was a Princess Heritage Hand Blown Pot with the original sticker still on the bottom. It was in perfect condition! My son has it listed on Ebay;-)
Your shoe is perfect!
what a cute litl shoe! Can't wait to see what you do with it :)
Enjoy your holiday
That's too bad about the smelly store. You sure did find a cute shoe! Love the color.
Hi Sally
Well maybe you'll find a thrifting shop without the odor! Thats not nice shopping...but I do love that little blue wooden shoe. It will look sweet with faux flowers.
have a lovely day
Judi
The blue shoe looks wonderful with the vase! Just love it! I just remember I have a small pair, I think in Blue Willow! Love your shoe

great find!!! how's the move going???
I really like that shade of blue! I have a friend that was born in Holland and went back about a year ago and brought me a little Dutch shoe.
Sorry you had to deal with a smelly store. That can really turn you off from shopping there.
take care,
Dawn
Very nice Sally. It looks so pretty with your blue and white vase. How is your house coming? I know you must be very excited.

I thought it was blue Monday, looking at your Dutch shoe! :)
This reminds me of a little porcelain shoe my mother used to keep in the showcase, as a decoration. For the life of me, I couldn't get it to fit on my foot!!! Ha ha haah ah ah ha !
