Funny Money

Susan at A Southern Daydreamer is the gracious hostess for Outdoor Wednesday. Participants post pictures of anything that they might find outdoors. Come join in.

Here's an example of someone who did not do well in math class. Take a look at the name of this local bank.

Shouldn't the name be one and two-thirds (1⅔) Bank?

And I was so disinterested in maths that I probably wouldn't have noticed had you not drawn my attention to it!

Sally, maybe because the address number is 13001, bad luck if you are superstitious. Don't put your money there. Superstitious, not me!!! :)

Have a happy outdoors day.

Hugs, Jeanne

We have those banks here, too. I never have figured it out!!

Oh and thanks so much for the movie review! It really helps to know what other "regular guys" think, as opposed to the media critics. I'd rather have a regular guy review than the other! We wondered about the movie and will wait for TV!

That is an interesting name for a bank.

That's really strange. I don't know if I would trust their accounting.

I am trying to understand this. Does it mean this is the 5th branch of the Third Bank. I think I'd have to find out.

LOL! We have Fifth Third here too. In fact, our baseball stadium is Fifth Third Field! I never thought about this (but then, I was just awful at math!) but now it will make me giggle each time I pass a branch!

ROFL -- we had 5/3 banks in Illinois when I lived there. I always said I would never put my money in a bank that was so bad at math!

Unknown said...

PS- the bank got its name because the flagship branch/headquarters is on the corner of 5th and 3rd (I can't remember which city).

Betsy Banks Adams said...

Shouldn't that be 1 2/3rds Sally??? ha ha ha... We have those crazy banks here also---along with a ton of others. In Hendersonville, where G's parents live, there's a bank on every corner. I don't know how all of them make it....

Hugs,
Betsy

That bank name doesn't even feel right saying it! I just realized that the symbol over the name is 5/3.

Makes you wonder.

Hi Sally
How did they come with a name like that?? I can't even imagine. I agree they should have taken the fraction down ... that makes no sense. I agree also its hard to say that word...you'd want to reverse it or something..
thank you for sharing...
I think thats a good bank to put a loonie and a toonie..don't you think?
have a great day
Judi

Is this for real?!!! My first thought was, they did it on purpose to draw attention ... but doesn't sound like the kind of attention a bank would necessarily want! Now you've got my attention, I'm going to "google" 'em. (Glad I don't have a job there, having to answer the switchboard!!!)

I can't imagine what they were thinking when they named that bank. It would drive me nuts to have to see that on a regular basis. I want to go correct their sign!

I can't imagine who thought of this name for a bank Sally--very strange. I would be interested to know the story behind it.

Hey Sweet Sally, I wanted to let you know we are not cruel and uncaring people. We did exhaust all methods to eradicate our skunks before using other advice. The conservation dept. tells us if we see the nocturnal animals active during the day (like on our carport charging us) they probably have rabies and need to be killed before someone gets bitten. I have too many precious grandchildren who love to play outside to chance with rabies. Sometimes downn on the farm, a choice like this has to be made. I just wanted you to understand. God Bless!!!
