Blue Monday - Blue Betta

1. Post about something blue on your blog. It can be pretty, ugly, funny, old, or new as long as it's blue. Leave a link to this blog on your post.
2. Place the Blue Monday button on the top of your post so that people can easily spot it. Place another Blue Monday button on the sidebar of your blog.
3. Mr. Linky will be up after midnight. Return here and link in with Mr. Linky by leaving your name and the Permalink to your post. To create a Permalink, click on your Blue Monday post title and copy all the stuff in the http window. It is a longer address so that people can find your post even later in the week--whenever they get a chance to visit.
4. Leave me a comment. I promise that I will visit you and leave you a commet. Visit other Blue participants by clicking on their links. Make someone's day; leave a comment.

Today I have a picture of a blue Siamese Fighting Fish (betta splendens). Bettas must be kept separated from other fish because they will attack. If you hold a mirror up to the glass, they will display (spread their fins so that they look big and bad.)

Jewels came to us after our church finished using him for display for a series on fishing. There were nine betas in separate bowls on the stage. Jewels was front and center because he was the most beautiful.
The life span of bettas is two to three years, but our guy lived almost four years. I like to think that was because of his good treatment. I kept him in a three-foot clear vase with blue stones in the bottom. It made a pretty decorative item.

Pink Saturday - How Sweet It Is

Remember Jackie Gleason and The Honeymooners? He made the phrase, "How Sweet It Is" famous. However, today I'm thinking about my sweetner, Sweet n Low.
Do you sweeten your coffee? With what?

Blog Party!

My son son and two blogging friends Mindy and Heather turned me on to blogging. I began June 13, 2008, and I've posted every day but one since. In the beginning, I posted a couple of times on a single day! Obviously, I love meeting people from all over the world and finding out new things.
Mission Statement
At one point, I was challenged to write a mission statement. Here's my final product:
To share with my family and friends and friends-to-be the essence of me: the joy of living, the happiness of family, the fun of having a relationship with the God of the universe in the hope that some may choose to follow Him.
Comments
A big part of blogging is commenting. Cathy from Melodies and Hymnsongs recently gave me this loyal commenter award. I am truly thrilled with this award. I work hard to comment on all of my blogroll every day, as well as to everyone who leaves a comment on my blog. It's really nice to be appreciated for my efforts.

Most bloggers are polite, and they know that it's just good manners to respond when someone has taken the time to leave a comment for them. There's no big mystery to it.

Terry at Lady Liberty Patriot gave me this neat Makes My Heart Smile Award award.

She said, "This little lady bug's smiles must be spread near and far they are too precious for just one garden. Blessings and hugs ya'll."
I'm supposed to share, so if you would like some Bloggie Love, please leave a comment and take this award for your blog with my blessings.
