Blue Monday - Graduation Day!

Welcome! It's Blue Monday! For instructions, just click here.

It's hard to believe that 2011 is GONE. Happy New Year to you!

Visit other Blue participants by clicking on their links and wishing them a Happy Blue Monday!

December was such a busy month that I didn't have time to tell you that our first-born grandchild, Lauren, graduated with honors from the University of South Florida (USF). Johnny and I are so proud. The picture below shows the three of us. Note that I have on a Blue shirt.

My daughter came to see the graduation and celebrate with two of her children--Caeli and Zachary. Here's a picture of them with Brittany, Lauren's sister. They're outside the St. Pete Times Forum where the graduation took place. Each one is showing off their Blue! Parts of the building is our color Blue.

Lauren's degree is in elementary education, and she already has a teaching position with some fortunate first graders. She's so excited!

The color for education is Blue, as you can see from Lauren's tassel. (She's holding Odi, her mini dachshund.)

Happy New Year!

Happy Blue Monday!

Sally, what great news! Tell Lauren that I graduated in January, went straight into a classroom, and truly loved my career in elementary education. I taught 30 years, the last 10 teaching first graders. She is starting out working with my favorite age. Lauren is going to have such fun working with these little ones. I wish her much success. Congratulations to the new teacher!

You're looking good in the picture with your granddaughter - hope your health is improving every day! I've always loved Sally in Dick and Jane, too. Did you have blond curls? I always wanted to be blond, but I did have auburn curls. Now, they are just gray waves. Guess I can never be our favorite Sally!! Sally

Congratulations to Lauren, you must be so proud of her. :) That's fantastic that she already has a position lined up and it just goes to show that all the doom and gloom about the graduate jobs market that we're getting from the media needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

(On another note, Odi is adorable. I have a soft spot for Dachshunds. :))
