Blue Monday - Grandson Graduates!

Hello! Welcome to Blue Monday! For complete instructions, please click here.

When you begin to type in your link, sometimes your "helpful" computer will finish it for you, oftentimes filling in with an old link. This is one reason why it's a good idea to check your link.

Discover what other Blue participants are sharing by clicking on their photos. Make someone's day when you wish them a Happy Blue Monday!

Our daughter's oldest son, Zachary, graduated from the University of Florida last weekend, and Johnny and I went to Gainesville to join in the experience. Notice please, all the Blue: Zachary's shirt, Johnny's shirt, and my blouse. (I am seated in a wheelchair because of my bad, right hip. My hip replacement surgery is scheduled for August 1st.)

Pictured below is our daughter's family: Pierce, Michael, Debi, Caeli, Zachary, and Ara. Caeli graduated from UF last year and is now working on her Master's. Ara plans to graduate from UF next year. Pierce, 14, is still being homeschooled and plans on attending UF in the future.

We arrived early, and I had Debi take a shot of the Blue auditorium. (The colors of the school are Blue and orange.) The large Blue sign is next to a huge screen that shows close-ups of the grads walking across the stage. This was one of many commencement ceremonies as this Spring there were a total graduating of 9,000!

This shot was taken from the giant screen as Zachary crossed the stage. Plenty of Blue here.

Happy Blue Monday!

Sally, what a very exciting milestone! I loved seeing the family shots and the shot of the graduate on stage. You must be SO proud!

I wish I had some blue this week, but I only have pink and white. I had been asked to join a blog party that is seasonal and centered on the movie "Steel Magnolias" so pink was in order. I didn't get it up till Sunday because I came back from a trip to Central Florida exhausted. I nearly broke my foot, too. It was a looooooooong week. LOL

Love you,

Great photo Sally! Congrats to your grandson. Your daughter has a great looking family. Sorry to hear about the upcoming hip surgery.

I hope so, too, Sally. I had workmen piled up like cordwood, two meetings (one I didn't make), and a friend in Hospice. It was a long (and sad) week.

But summer promises to be better without so much commitment!

Better late than never. Our daughter surprised us with a visit and we have had quite a day. Andrea, our daughter who lives in Tennessee, drove here to take us to dinner for Bill's birthday and Mother's day. A lovely surprise. She has to go back on Tues. morning.

Sally your post is delightful. I love the photos and the wonderful occasion of Zachary's achievement in graduating from such a great college. I have said it before but you have the most handsome and beautiful family. I know how proud you must be. Great blues and Go Gators!

You know I will be praying for you with the upcoming surgery. We will chat before then.

Hi Sally, it is so nice to see your comment. I was lucky to get the plant stand. I like our deck to be a bit rustic here in the mountains.

It was 80 today. Summer is on it's way. I hope it doesn't get too hot.

Did you watch Idol tonight? The final two are amazing singers. They will announce the winners tomorrow night. I know you love music.

Love, Jeanne
