Blue Monday - Outdoor Games

Hello! Welcome to Blue Monday! For complete instructions, just click here.

Please leave a comment for me; I guarantee that I'll visit and leave one for you. Visit other Blue participants by clicking on their links and leaving comments. If it's too much for one day, come back later in the week.

Make someone's day when you wish them a Happy Blue Monday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I was a child (back in the covered wagon days) we'd play hide and seek outdoors with my siblings and neighbors. We did not need equipment, only our imaginations. Today's children seem to require so much more than I did.
As many of you know, Johnny walks most days, and I've comissioned him to find Blue things. Here are some outdoor "toys" he found for me to share with you.
First, he spotted this Blue trampoline.
Next he found a Blue basketball hoop.
Here's a Blue slide.
This is a shot of the community's Blue playground.
Finally, he found a Blue golf ball!
What outdoor game did you most enjoy as a child?
Happy Blue Monday!
Hi Most Smiling One! I'm so excited to get to be blue with you again on Mondays! I giggled looking at your images. My kids had a trampoline just like that, blue and all, except no net around it. That would have been a good thing for all of the bouncing off the tramp little bodies! :) Thanks for hosting.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Johnny did a great job following his assignment to find blue stuff.
Your Johnny had a good eye for blues on that walk. I can relate to hide and seek. My days go further back than yours. We did a lot of pretending and hop scotch drawn in the yard with a stick for the marker. Most of my young and older life has been nothing but work.Have a good week.
Mornin Sally! My favorite game was jacks. Amazing how many hours you could spend sitting on the floor and entertaining yourself with a ball and metal jacks. I tried to link today but can't seem to do something right.
Hi Sally, Your hubby did really well with his choices. I found your comment about children's games interesting. Times have changed for sure, but I have noticed on some school camping trips we did with students, that they reverted to similar games to the ones of our youth once we confiscated all their electronic devices. They thanked us for that in the end. Have a wonderful Monday. Many thanks for hosting!
Hello dear Sally, I am sooooo late with this post but my cousin Bob is here and the day was spent in town. Therapy for me and shopping for my cousin. Sigh. I was going to put up something short but as it turned out I got carried away. Yikes. However, the content of my post is near to my heart.
You are so right about the toys that are needed to keep today's children happy and busy. Nothing is simple anymore. I too have fond memories of the simplest games etc. we spent our days doing for fun. Johnny found some great blue toys and a golf ball...HA!
Have a great week and I hope we can find time to talk.
Love, Jeanne
