Bicycle Paths

Susan at A Southern Daydreamer is the hostess for Outdoor Wednesday. Participants post pictures of anything that they might find outdoors. Come join us.

My new home has beautiful and extensive bicycle paths that parallel the highway. It's used quite a bit by not only bicyclists but by walkers too.

I've seen bike paths before, but I have never seen one quite as nice as this. Perhaps you haven't either. Most bike paths look like sidewalks.

However, sections of these paths are built like bridges so that people can move unimpeded over water or swampland.

Does your area have anything like this?

Birds Nesting Here

My friend, Diane at A Picture is Worth A Thousand... hosts 2nd Time Around. She's a creative and crafty lady. She finds what some may think is not worth much, and paints it or tweaks it a bit and creates a thing of beauty, function, and/or value for her home. If you'd like to join in the fun, click on the link.

Diane is influencing me! Last week, we spotted a thrift shop and decided to stop in. It was clean and well organized. When I inquired, I found out that they had just opened this past June. I'm sure I'll return.

I found these cute birds for only $1.50 each, but on that day, they were 50% off. I paid $1.50 for both of them! They're flawless, and I'm glad that they've nested here.

Clapping?

When I grew up, there was absolutely no clapping in church, but I've "come a long way, baby." Now I enjoy music that gets feet tapping. In fact, the church I attend, gets "into it." How about you? Do you clap to the beat?

Spiritual Sundays are hosted by gracious Ginger and charming Charlotte. To visit other participants, click here.

Teapots from England for Pink Saturday

Precious Beverly at How Sweet the Sound hosts Pink Saturday. Please Pause at her Place to see Plenty of other Pretty Pink items that Precious Pink Participating People are Presently Presenting for your Perusing Pleasure.

Today I have two teapots from England to show. Both have Pretty Pink flowers on them. Here's a shot of the front of both teapots.

And here is a shot of their backs. I love that they are decorated all around.

This was purchased when my mother went to England with three other friends a year or so after my father died. That trip was one of the highlights of her life, and this teapot was treasured by her. It has a good bit of gold trim on it.

The bottom markings are shown here. Mama enjoyed a cup of tea now and again, so she most likely used this a few times, but not often as it was "very dear." (That means expensive.)

Johnny and I went to England many years later, and even though I don't drink tea (other than iced tea) I had to keep the tradition going and buy a teapot. Teapots are quite costly, so I bought this little one.

Here's a picture of its markings. I've never used it other than for display, but I'm so happy to have it.

Sometimes we just feel good when we're surrounded by pretty things that have sweet memories attached.

See you for Blue Monday!
